CHANTICLEER,,BOXING WATER,, JERICHO,, SMACKIN ISAIAH
MONDAY DEC.9TH 2002 9:00PM BILLS BAR 18+

Well let me just tell you the show tonight was crazy. First of all we took a right down Landsdown Streetand were greeted by a long ass line of face painted freaks. Insane Clown Posse was in town and playing the Avalon. Meanwhile right next door at Bills Bar there was a kick ass show about to go down. Now I was not familiar with the other 3 bands playing the show but I was very eager to see them all. On this freezing cold night we walked into Bill's Bar. I immediately saw Nuno at where else but the bar haha. As we were talking he informed me that they were going on late. And late they did,, they ended up headlining the show. Smackin took the stage at about 11:50. The other three bands were pretty good. Boxing Water was probly the best of the three. They had a ton of energy and a great sound. I picked up their latest release. I was not as impressed with the first band, Chanticleer but they were cool guys. Jericho but on a really awesome set right before Smackin. Then it was time for the headliner of the night,, that's right Smackin Isaiah. I don't think they realized they would be headlining but they definitely came through like always. They sounded especially good because Bills Bar has an awesome sound system. They came out to a new song which I didn't catch the name of, then went right into A Chapter of Accidents. I forget the rest of the order but they played 2 other new songs called A Picture of the World and Curse. All three new songs are going to be on their upcoming album which is do out in a couple months I think. These songs are absolutely amazing, that new album is gonna be unbelievable. Smackin went on to play hits off their Benefits of Thinking Out Loud album including You Kiss Their Ass and They Shit on You, Class of 97, Catharsis for dummies, and a song which I think they might be adding to their set because they played it at NB and 2nite and its such an awesome song especially live too, its called Month of Sundays. They also played an old school song which I don't know the name I just know the tune. They finished up their amazing set with a bang with one of the many crowd favorites, It'll Happen to You. Smackin definitely put on a kick ass show as usual. It also sounded awesome in Bills Bar with their sound equipment. Keep checkin up on www.smackinisaiah.com for more upcoming shows. Until next time i'm the guest reviewer, Kevin. Email me at kevinb729@aol.com if ya wanna aright laaaaaaata .!!!!!

This was probably the most amazing Smackin Isaiah show i have ever seen. It was their first time playing home in almost 2 years. Thrift Syndicate started off the night playing a kick ass set (as usual) then Blues Bastard played . It was my first time seeing them and i thought they were wicked awesome. Then Immortal Alice hit the stage and also rocked as well. Now on to Smackin Isaiah. They started off with "Hike", then went right into "Wyoming State", which they havent played in a really long time and got the crowd really pumped. Some other songs they played that they havent in some time were "Bowling", and "A Month Of Sundays". Also on the list was "A Chapter Of Accidents", "You Kiss Their Ass and They Shit On You", "September 9th", "Catharsis For Dummies", "Temper, Temper", "Hell Or High Water". "Halcyon Days", "Class Of 97", "A Picture Of The World", "Kursk", "William ??? Overdrive", and "It'll Happen To You". I think there was a total of like 18 songs! They played for so long and they played so good on top of that. If you missed this show, you probably missed the best SI show to date. Gauranteed.

wow. i'll start this off by saying the new Smackin Isaiah CD is goin' to be
nuts. the new material that they played tonight was insane. the show started
off with some flowers & cops, then i believe some maverick and then there
were more bands in a order i forget such as: the curse, none more black, and
kill your idols. Smackin Isaiah played second to last and completley ripped
up the stage. they started it off with a good amount of material from
'benefits of thinking out loud' then threw in a handful of new stuff from
the upcoming CD. Wow, the energy was so intense. Even the kids who havent
seen or heard of smackin isaiah were rockin out to it. then nuno got a
little bit of some heat between some chick in the back who was screamin
'deebo' and nuno replied 'thats my bike punk'. the good thing i see every
time live in smackin isaiah, is the smiles on all of there faces rockin out.
then again that doesnt compare to them NAILING every single note. well
regardless in conclusion the Smackin Isaiah boys rip up NJ every time they
play here.

I can't quite remember the first band's name, but Smackin' Isaiah played with
Jay Jenson, the Forever Endeavor, and Theory Of Regret. The bands were all
awesome minus the first, who were alright. Jay Jenson was incredible. It was
almost like instrumental punk. It was like nothing I've ever heard before, and
it was awesome. Theory Of Regret was great too. I saw them last year when
I saw Smackin' Isaiah on a Tuesday night when there were about 4 people
watching...it was awesome. They've really become a great band, even more
so since they have a bassist now. The Forever Endeavor was punk but kind
of not...really hard to explain. Nonetheless they were enjoyable. The unique
style really had a nice sound to it.

Now for Smackin'. I was disappointed that they played so much new stuff.
Screaming to the songs is quite possibly one of the best things ever. They
started the show off with "It Will Happen To You." Itw as odd, seeing how
the past 3 shows they played they ended it off with that song. But it was a
nice way to start off by kicking in lots of energy. I can't quite remember the
order they played the songs in, but they also played "Temper Temper", "Send
Off", "Class of '97", "Catharsis for Dummies", "A Picture Of the World", "You
Kiss Their Ass and They Shit On You", "Halcyon Days", "A Chapter of Accidents",
and I believe the other was a new one.I didn't catch the name of the song though.
The energy definately kicked in more with Class of 97 and Chatarsis though. Such
awesome songs. Trev had a little problem with the mic stand...the mic would fall
down and be facing towards the ground so he had to angle himself to sing into
it...pretty funny actually. I couldn't see Nick. But can you ever see him when he's
drumming anyway? He's just that damned fast. Nuno didn't take his shirt off till the
last song! WHOA! Usually it's the first line into the first song and it's half-way around
the world, so that was different. Nuno did have a lot of energy tonight. Moving
around a lot more. Jon moved around a lot more than I've really seen him move
tonight too. Of course, he's always at the opposite side of the stage since I stand
in front of Trev to watch him play guitar and whatnot. And Chris is just awesome.
Lots of energy. Good job to Chris for sporting the Drexel shirt as well. Overall,
the band is still doing great, and it's awesome that they have a bunch of new shirts
out. Just too bad they dont' have any more pins. But the band did really well tonight,
and there was a good sized crowd to see them too. Hopefully they come back to
Nashua soon.
