Peace Bridge, U.S.A.
Once upon a time
little girl dreamed
on lavender sheets
with prancing unicorns
hovering above
pure maiden
whose dreams
tainted
a flea sucking on one spot
engorged, bloated
till its forced to move
parasitic
teasing, touching, tickling, trespassing
wrestling, whispering, warning, whipping
scaring, scarring, sucking, slinking
she tries to shower
dirt underneath skin
no brush to get it out
hot water
boiling, fizzing from the nozzle
mist preceding
lobster red
abrased skin
Dreams
Runs over a bridge
Slave in Canada
free
only lasts too short
before one must return
each time
little piece is left
behind
new sprout ready to grow
cabbage patch children
with the name of the girl
inked on their asses
all with the same looks
altered minds
bitter, timid, infuriated, ashamed
confused, sexual, detached, worn
unicorns prance protecting
with golden horns
thrown to the floor
night fit
stairs creak
girl whimpers
protectors crumpled
noise deafens
so man screams
no longer dreaming
broken porcelain doll
pretty face
glass eyes glazed over
corn husk hair
spread as though kelp in the sea
drowning
fathoms under
no air to breathe
water rushes over mouth
crusted salt
domed hand
hush breathing
grunting
a pig at a slough
getting its fill
delicious apple
warm and ripe
flower long gone
porcelain cracks
starts to laugh
bridge is being repaired
no escape
far away cries
reach deaf ears
doll fall from the first shelf
precious collectible
head first
humpty dumpty
cant be repaired
