New Testament Body of Christ

What We Believe

We profess the Judeo-Christian faith as presented in the New Testament of the Holy Bible and foretold in the Old Testament. We believe that, just as New Testament Christianity passed the test of the Law, the Prophets, and the Writings (a.k.a. Old Testament), so every speaker, teacher, writer, prophet, pastor, leader, and minister of the Faith must confirm everything that is written in both the Old and New Testaments and not contradict them in a single way.

Our essential tenets of faith are as follows: ·

There is and can by definition be only ONE God who is above all holy and pure, the all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, all-gracious, and omnipresent Spirit. He became a Man (Jesus Christ) in order to save humankind from sin. ·

God’s gift of salvation is by God’s grace through our faith in Him and not by the works of the law. ·

Repentance (turning away) from sin is the necessary prerequisite to coming unto God for salvation. ·

Everyone must be immersed in water in the name of JESUS CHRIST in order to have their sins washed away by Jesus’ own blood and be born again so that they can enter into the Kingdom of God. ·

The Spirit of God enters into the heart of everyone who believes and is baptized, and it is this presence of God dwelling within a person that saves. This is how everyone must be born again of the Spirit, thereby becoming a child of the Most High God. ·

Once Christians, believers will experience trials and troubles in this world, but we can and must manifest both the fruits and the gifts of the Holy Spirit and overcome by the One who overcame for us. ·

Every true Christian’s goal is to be like Jesus Christ in every way. The ultimate goal toward which we and the Spirit who is within us works is to make us holy, just as He is holy. ·

From the moment that we are born again into Christ’s Kingdom, we are ALL called to preach and minister the gospel to the lost and also to serve one another within the body of Christ, as the Lord has gifted us.

We believe that the Bible is the authoritative, divinely-inspired Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16). Therefore, even as Jesus “opened the Scriptures” to the disciples on the Emmaus road (Luke 24:32), so today, we need to have His Spirit lead and guide us into all truth (John 16:13).
