~Perfect Choc chip cookies!!~

3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp pure vanilla
1 1/2 cups of flour
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
6 oz pkg choc chips
1/2 cups of chopped nuts
or Corn Flakes (optional)

Cream together 1/2 cup shortening sugars egg and vanilla.
untill very light and fluffy.
Mix in 1 cup flour salt and baking soda. in separate bowl.
Add flour mixture to the wet ingredients a little at a time.
untill mixture is no longer wet and sticky.
Add Chocolate chips and nuts at this time.
Drop by heaping teaspoon into greasedd cookie sheet.
to make pefectly round cookies just roll them into a ball.
Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes.

~Hot Fudge Pudding Cake~

1 cup flour
3/4 cup white sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
2 TBSP of cocoa
1/2 cup of milk
2 tbsp of shortening-melted
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 3/4 cups hot water

Measure flour white sugar and salt baking powder abd 2 tbsp
cocoa into a bowl. Blend in milk and shortening. Add nuts. Pour into
ungreased 9 inch square cake pan.
Combine bown sugar and 1/4 of the cocoa. Spread evenly over batter.
Pour hot water directly over batter. Bake for 40-45 min at 350.
Serve either hot or cold with milk or ice cream.
