REMEMBER!

The NIGHT BEFORE
our
Braemar Royal
Highland Gathering day,
we had most-sumptuously
lodged in
A CASTLE!!!

The night OF our Braemar Royal Highland Gathering day

we lodged in a room with
SEVEN other women, at a
Scottish Youth HOSTEL!!!

Since we were the LAST to arrive that night, we were stuck in UPPER BUNKS!
Personally! I think the CONTRAST was a HOOT!!!

The nicest thing about staying in the Hostel:
LAUNDRY FACILITIES!

The Hostel was immediately ABOVE
The Braemar Mountain Rescue quarters.

No one seemed to be “home” there, though.

So, we did our laundry, and went
in SEARCH OF COFFEE.

Exploring the Village of Braemar
was fun! We found all sorts of interesting
buildings and monuments.

Then (thank goodness), we found a
place that served coffee & BREAKFAST!

This is the “Fife Arms” Hotel.

WE DID
TONS O’ SHOPPING
in Braemar!!!

In fact, the majority of our
Scottish Shopping was done here.

Socks, scarves, trinkets, books!
It was great!

Before checking back to say
“Goodbye” to Anne,
we used the LOO at the Fife Arms.

Susan was quite impressed with
the “amenities” offered here!

Her place is absolutely wonderful!

Both Susan & I have decided that
when next we return to Scotland,
(and we WILL return!)
we needs must
stay a night with
ANNE!!!

After shopping and visiting, we headed

BACK
TO
ABERDEEN

Our last two nights
(Sunday & Monday)
were spent with
Jim & Ailene,
back at the cozy
Open Hearth
Guesthouse.
