In this century the art was divided in 3 types of art and this are the types of art of the 19th Century Art:

This type of art was of late 18th to Early 19th century. The Neoclassicism was deriven from the art and culture of Ancient Greece and Rome, that's the reason that in this period the painters paint must of the things of Greece. The characteristics of the Neoclassicism are based on order, symmetry, and simplicity of style, for example the paintings of roman people, with the dress and fighting in the battle, and naked women , just like Greeks did, the founder of this movement was Jacques Louis Davis.

This period take place for the early to mid-19th century.
The word says everything. Romanticism started from a widespread revival of interest in medieval stories know as romances. The romanticism was introduced in the medial ages and were fascinated with Africa and the Orient. Romanticism is characterized by a heightened interest in nature, emphasis on the expressions of emotion and imagination, and departure from classical art forms. Romantics pursued their passion to the fullest extent. Theodore Géricault launched Romanticism with his painting "The Raft of the Medusa". This was the most popular paint of this period.

This period take place to the Mid to late 19th century
In this period the painter paint the things exactly that they are in the reality. They paint only things that are real, but what's mean reality for their, well reality are all things that they can see or can touch, the things like the gods, goddesses, heroes this things didn't take place here. The most things that they paint was the activities of every day, the hard life of every day.
