You Can Pray at School!

Do not let anyone tell you that Prayer is not allowed in schools. That could not be further from the truth. The first admendment of the consitution, in fact, says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."
This means:

A) No one can force you to practice an established religion on public or government property.
B)No one can stop you from willingly practicing your own religion on any property.
C)Any one, no matter who it is, who does either, is breaking the constitution. They are probably doing so in ignorance. I suggest you write them a polite letter explaning to them calmly and rationally what the above quote means. If you are ignored, keeping going to higher authorities (preferably human, but you never know, Christ could be someone very helpful to appeal to) until you get heard.
D)You have a right to petition authorties at your school to start a religous organization on campus as long as it does not meet during school hours and the school does not endorse it over any other religious organizations. Most schools require a supervising faculty member present at all organization meetings. This faculty member, under the school policies that I am aware of, is not allowed to participate in any of the activities. When I was in high school, some of my friends and I did just this, and the principal okayed our petition.
E)You can choose to pray during school hours as long as you are not causing a disruption or bodily harm. Although, to warn you, out-loud prayers will be taken by most teachers as talking and treated accordingly. If your teacher has a no talking rule, the same goes for praying out loud.
F)If you are planning to sacrifice a virgin (if you are, you need help, I'm sorry!), don't. Religous practices that cause physical or emotional harm are excluded from the consitutional protection, due to Mill's harm principle.
