THE RETURN OF THE SUPERSTARS.
Backstreet Boys - Kevin Richardson, Howie D, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell and A.J. McLean are back with a new album
"Denniz was like a father for us"
The Backstreet Boys about the sorrow after the swedish producer
NEW YORK. It was a party at Studio 54 yesterday (May 17 1999) with the Backstreet Boys.
Expressen was there and asked what the swedish producers Max Martin and Denniz Pop mean to them.
It was a tribute that the whole world could hear.
No, the legendery club Studio 54 doesnīt exist anymore and it hasnīt on many years. Itīs a teather now, but the name is the same.
It was there Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean and Kevin Richardson met the press yesterday.
Their new album Millennium was realesed at today and it was that reason why the TV-cameras was there and showed pictures of the five teenagedreams to the whole world.
Their fans have made them to one of the biggest boybands and BSB have sold 29 million CDīs.
The big Europe tour starts June 2nd in Belgium and the last three concerts are in Sweden. Gothenburg August 5 and Stockholm August 6 and 7.
Itīs not more than right that Europe gets the finals.
Despite that all five of them are americans - they live in Orlando, Florida - they first got famous in Europe long before USA.
And itīs really good that Sweden gets the finals of their tour, because itīs the swedish hitmakers Max Martin and Denniz Pop who have given the group hit after hit.
They took Denniz death really hard
Denniz Popīs death in cancer last year was really hard for them.
When I ask that question, the girls favorite, otherwise so quiet Nick Carter suddely take the microphone:
-Denniz was like a father for us, like a second father. He has definitive influenced the music people hear today.
-He was a very kind, charming man. He was amazing. Inscrutable are The Lords roads, and we canīt explain what happened. But he is up there and listen to us and guiding us.
"We are very proud of Max
Denniz produced some of the tracks on the album. Max Marin has produced seven of the tracks.
-This years, when we have working with Max, he has grown very much has an song writer and producer, says Kevin Richardson. By the way I would like to contrat him to the Song Writer Of The Year Award that he got here in USA. We are very proud.
-He is at the same age as me. We have grown together and our chemestry works good. Denniz and Max has helped us develop our sound.
-Some of the songs that he has written och we have collaborate on are we very proud of. We are looking forward to work with hime many years from now.
The US. Magazine Rolling Stone have the boys on their cover in their latest issue and the headline is
"Backstreet Boys Year Of Hell".
1998 was a hard year. Professional was it a very successful year, but at the same time it they didnīt get along with their manager Louis Pearlman and the members struck of many close deaths. Denniz Pop was one of them:
-Howie losted his sister, Kevin tells. Me and Brian (they are cousins) losted our Grandparents. Brian had heart surgery.
-When I first saw the headline in Rolling Stone I thought that he was a little bit hard, but then I thought that, yes, itīs really been a hard year for us.
So it isnīt that strange that they are looking forward to the new millennium.
