Continuing our top series of the Backstreet Boys' intimate moments, this issue Brian goes back to school.
One of Brianīs favourite track on the new Backstreet Boys album is a song he wrote himself. Called The Perfect Fan, itīs - bless! - about his mum.
Most of the song was recorded in Florida, but Brian reckoned it needed an extra something - the input of his old school choir, to be exact.
The recording took place at Brianīs old school, Lexington High, and Brianīs old choirmaster, Mr Turner, turned up to lend a hand. A mobile recording studio was brought over from New York, and the song was ready to roll.
It all took eight - eight! - hours and Brian conducted the choir, which included some of Brianīs old classmates, as well as the current students, throughout. His family was also on hand to watch the proceedings.
The fella kicked of by explaining the intricacies of recording, working with headsets and the like before they started warbling the song. Not being professionals, the choir took a while to get used to it, but once they were under way it all went swimmingly.
At the end of the session, everyone trooped into the recording studio to listen to the playback. They were well chuffed with the results, so they all celebrated by having a big old singsong, just like old times. Aww...
"It was a really wonderful experience," Brian hooted.
