Catalogued into Brutal Death Metal Cenotaph has shifted from brutal to metal more melodic since his first album "The Gloomy Reflection of our Hidden Sorrows" released in 1992 to his album "Riding Our Black Oceans" - 1999. About "Riding Our Black Oceans" Fernando from Legions of Death says “the album riding our black oceans is a new recording of the first edition wich is out of print, this album is from 94. Right now they are on europe recording them newest material”. Cenotaph has developed an inventive and distinctive death metal from Mexico their country. A fusion of American death metal and heavy metal has made this band create a new style called Doom-Death

The Gloomy Reflection of our Hidden Sorrows - 1992

Their first album shows a combination of short riffs and longer, sometimes faster and often slower. This band is comparable with Sepultura from Brazil. A strong vocal style, precision drumming, rhythmic lead guitars and doom influences have affirmed this band as the best metal from Mexico.
