Sam Malone: @ 8:03 Please welcome from the Backstreet Boys, and joining us
here on 104 KRBE Houston, Howie D! Howie wuz up!

Howie Dorough: Hey Sam, how's it goin?

SM: Outstanding Howie. Welcome to Houston Texas on 104 KRBE.

HD: Well thank ya thank ya.

SM: So when you guys were here last time did you actually go see the
town or did ya just fly in and fly out?

HD: Well ya know what it was kind of a bore cuz we kinda flew in and kinda
flew right out dont you have a six flags there?

SM: yeah.

HD: I remember being across the street from our hotel and I remember just
like biting at my teeth just tryin to get over there so badly.

SM: Well ok now we know you stay at the Sheridan @ Kirby and 610.

HD: And now I definitely have to change that hotel.

SM: Rrr, but generally so I mean its like come to town do a sound check
perform out the uh.

HW: Exactly exactly. We've been lucky enough not to have to do too many
sound checks now that we've gotten the tour underway. Our sound people
know pretty much how to work the boards by now.

SM: Yeah well listen, you hope so.

HW: *laughs* Exactly.

SM: Your singing and kevin, and you're like Turn up the mic dude!

HD: *laughs again*

SM: So, so how big is the crew? how big does the on tourage look like
like the Backstreet Boys tour like how many people are on the pay roll?

HD: We got a good like about 70 to 80 people.

SM: Ok their names, go!

HD: Uhh, Jimbo, John, Jue, nah....

SM: There's gotta be a Steve!

HD: Uh sure, I'm sure there's a Steve and a John in there somewhere.

SM: So when you talk to them do they go like Uh I was on the road with
Alice Cooper in '79.

HD: It's funny we actually have some of our crew guys um they're big
techies they do a lot of the uh the main you know tell um people what to
do, actually used to be on the tour with Metallica for a long time there
was kinda a switch from Metallica to Backstreet Boys.

SM: Good lord! Man, Metallica, Backstreet Boys!

HD: Uh you never know!

SM: Oh goodness gracious, first off I guess we should roll out a
congratulations on MILLENNIUM.

HD: Oh thank ya, we appreciate it.

SM: Thirty six weeks still on the uh Billboard hot 200.

HD: Yeah I know, unbelievable, knock on wood everyday.

SM: Is it uh have you passed 12 million sold?

HD: You know what I'm not exactly sure I know we're up near there, um cuz
I think we went diamond, not too long ago, and um we should be close
to there, it's been a great run.

SM: Man, have they presented you with that big uh picture ten million
sold plaque thing yet?

HD: Haha, not yet not yet, hopefully the next time we have a uh a big
platinum party we'll bring company that will meet with us and give us
one of those big puppies.

SM: Do ya have a big garage just full of em just sittin there
collecting dust?

HD: Actually there all at my parents' house, my parents' house looks
like a museum now of Backstreet albums; it's funny.

SM: Listen, it beats wall paper right?

HD: Hell yeah, hey we covered up that uh that 1970's at my parents house
with plaques so uh it looks nice now.

SM: *laughing* Hey that's so cool! do ya um do you fly your parents around
out on the road? so they can get a chance to catch the show out in the
different cities?

HD: Yeah they come out here and there um they've come before with me up
to Canada and I've had my mom and sister come out to Europe a couple times
my brother as well in LA, um out here in America they come out as well here
and there.

SM: That's cool.

HD: Yeah it's like a family thing.

SM: Now do they go, Howie uh thanx for flyin us out but uh where's the
Ritz Carlton?

HD: Haha, nah they're actually really cool about it, we uh I know alot
of times people think we have glitz and glamour and you know each of
us have our own pin suites, and you know that our family has their own
suites and everything, I'll just have my family stay with me.

SM: Really?

HD: Just bring out the couch and be like, here brother! you get to
sleep here in the night.

SM: And you're like, seee ya I'm going to the mansion!

*Howie laughs*

SM: Howie can we order pay per view? Where's the bath robes?

HD: Don't take anything out of the mini bar, it's too expensive!! *SM and
HD are laughing*

SM: Howie, from the Backstreet Boys is our guest live here on 104 KRBE,
now I guess the hot news that's been coming out obviously involves
Kevin and Brian.

HW: Oh yeah

SM: And the engagements and stuff like that, what, was there pressure to
not say anything, did they like threaten you, hold you up against the wall
or lockers or something, *Howie laughs*

HD: No no not at all. I mean they're um very open about it, even though
our lives are, um we try to have a little bit of privacy, um you know
our lives are very public. and everybody knows about it it's very hard to
keep anything really hush-hush and Brian and Kevin, you know, Brian's
you know has announced he's had a girlfriend for the longest time, and um
Kevin's been you know dating his fiance on and off for 7 years, and they
just felt like you know that the right timing was over this holiday.

SM:That's cool.

HD: And we've had a very merry Christmas, and they just wanted to
announce it to the public, so that way they wouldn't be hearing it from
second hand information. They had nothing to hide, they are very proud
of their situation.

SM: Howie from the Backstreet Boys is our guest, um as far as gifts, what
do you get for someone that you've worked with for all these years, like
for a wedding gift, have they asked for anything? do you have anything in
mind, crystal, you gonna give them dishes?

HD: *laughing* I honestly don't know even know! We'll probably smack em in the face first.

SM: Dude! Congratulations, wack! Comes to Houston with a big fat lip and
we'll know why.

HD: *laughing* No, um you know what, actually I haven't even thought
about that. I think you are the first person to get me thinking about that, um they haven't even set a date for it yet, any of
them. Obviously with our schedules being so crazy, they are probably
going to work around that, and uh, so we don't know if it'll be this year
or next year or whenever, um but uh I think it was a big step alone to, you
know, get engaged and everything so, um, I don't even know what to get them.
I'll probably get them something for their house, like you said.

SM: Get them a weed whacker.

HD: *laughs* Yeah right, a John Doe.

SM: Yeah get em a John Doe, and a ten pound bag of salt and say "here
shut up."

HD:*laughs* There you go.

SM: Now listen I want to know can you hang with us, cuz I wanna play
Show Me The Meaning.

HD: ok.

SM: And then we've invited some listeners, and I can't keep them up here
much longer. They were about to faint, when they heard your voice.

HD: *laughs* well cool.

SM: Alright, Howie's online with us and this is Show Me The Meaning.
We'll ask some more questions, and we've got some more concert tickets hidden
away in here, right here on 104 KRBE. (They play SMTMOBL)

SM: Bringin' back my friends, from the Backstreet Boys, Howie D.
Howie, you still hanging with us?

HD: Oh yeah, definitely,

SM: Where's everybody else by the way?

HD: Everybody's packing up their stuff, gettin ready to go to the
venue.

SM: cool

HD: We got a big fan press conference today

SM: Neat, alright, let's bring up some moms up here, and here I guess we're
going to have Debbie come up here first. Say hi to Howie.

Debbie: Hey Howie. How you doin?

HD: Hey, how you doin Debbie?

Debbie: Doin wonderful, um I have 3 children, one is 18, a senior, Brandon,
at Katy High School, then I have a 13 yr old, Kristina, at Katy
Junior High, and an 11 yr old, Bobbie, at Katy Elementary.

HD: Wow, congratulations.

Debbie: Thank you, and also I've been married 20 yrs this year.

HD: wow

Debbie: Yeah! That's exciting, marriage is a good thing, tell Kevin
and um, both of them

HD: Brian

Debbie: Yeah, Kevin and Brian, best of luck, marriage is a good thing,
ah listen my question is for you, what would be your advice for teenagers,
on making healthy choices in regards to sex, drugs and violence?

HD: Whoo, that's a big one. Um, i would just say, you know, um my advice to
them is, um there is no pressure into anything, whether its sex, drugs,
or violence, you know i don't think you should, nobody should have to conform,
um I know, especially teenagers, there's a lot of peer pressure, and um, I was
very fortunate to grow up in a stage, and my neighborhood and
my school and not having as much peer pressure as I understand some of
these other places in the states have. I would just say be very family
oriented as possible, you know, if your gonna stay with family, and
surround yourself around good positive people, good friends, have good
morals, good background, um you know and good family up bringings, I think
it'll be easier, for kids to not to have put themselves in that
position of the pressure, and its if they are, you know just know when
to say no, as they always say.

Debbie: Thanx, i think thats great, good advice.

HD: Thank ya.

SM: Thank you Howie, How bout Debbie, huh? She's a hell of an interviewer, huh?

HD: Yeah, I know!

SM: Debbie Canales, ladies and gentlemen, in Katy! Let's get Kim
Weevermyer up here, come on Kim, now she's wearing your t-shirt

HD: Oh alright!

Kim: Hey Howie how you doin?

HD: Hey Kim how you doin?

Kim: Fine thank you, I was wondering if you could say Hi to my daughter,
Kirsten, and my niece Amanda, they're both at school today

HD: Oh yeah? Well Hi Kirsten and Amanda! This is Howie here saying Helloo.

Kim: I've noticed they've picked you as the ambassador of the Backstreet Boys,
and they couldn't have picked a better person for it.

HD: *laughs* Ambassador?!

Kim: Yeah, you know you sorta speak for them all.

HD: Well I just, uh, I try to have a way with words here and there.

Kim: And you do.

HD: Well thank ya.

Kim: I noticed in the past, you did some acting. Do you have any of that
in the future plans?

HD: Actually, I do. I was out in LA here, I don't know if ya'll saw the
American Music Awards, I was down on behalf of the group. I was out in LA writing some music, and actually at the
same time, and actually taking up some means with some different casting
directors from like H.B.O., Universal Studios, Century 21, and actually I landed my first role in a movie called Bloom. And
they are supposed to be gettin Jeff Goldblum to be the the star of the movie,
and I'm up for a couple of roles um coming up here other different movies
so during these next break that we have off i'm goin to start downloading a
bit back into the acting scene.

Kim: Well cool. We'll be looking for you.

HD: Well thank ya.

Kim: buh bye!

HD: Take care.

SM: These women, lemme tell ya somethin, are these women good or what?

HD: Yeah, good questions there!

SM: Well let's do one more, Howie Dorough is our guest, from the
Backstreet Boys, and lets see, uh Teresa Guyger, come on down!

Teresa: Hi Howie!

HD: Howie land! Hey how you doin?

Teresa: I'm doin' just fine, um i have 3 daughters, and one son, we
go to Barber Sill High School, Kristina, Lorena, Kasey, and Hans Jr.

HD: Wow congratulations.

Teresa: Um thank you, I just wanted to ask you um where do you see
yourselves in the future? You know like dreams beyond the stardom?

HD: Um, I mean honestly we're going to try to take the Backstreet Boys as long
as it could go, um as long as you keep likin our music and we can grow with
our audience, we want to do this as long as possible, um but alongside of the
Backstreet Boys, we want to eventually you know get married, maybe have
family, you know have a couple little Backstreet kids of our own
(*aaw how cute!*) running around.

Teresa: *laughs* That sounds good

HD: *laughs* Aw we all support each other, on our individual goals,
as well. Like me getting into acting, and a couple of the other guys doing
some possibly solo/duets stuff, um so constantly you know allowing each
other, to uh further our careers, and also our individual lives,

Teresa: Ok that sounds great, good luck to you in the future.

HD: Thank you thank you very much, I appreciate it.

SM: Like to stick in, *sarcastically* yeah like we need more luck!
Dude you got the Midas touch!

HD: Yeah I can use it all the time.

SM: Just come over here and touch my taxes. *laughs*

HD: *laughs* You're crazy

SM: We have tickets to give away, for the show on the 28th and 29th so at
least we know you're going to be staying in Houston for a little bit .

HD: Yeah definitely.

SM: And why dont you and I make dinner plans now, where do you wanna
go? Go!

HD: Hey, sounds good to me! What do you recommend?

SM: Uh, anything you're paying for!

HD: OHH!

SM: I am a HUGE fan of your credit card!

HD: Nope the record company's! *SM & HD laugh*

SM: So we'll give away some tickets, how bout the Hollywood Dirt it's
great to have you a part of the show, here on 104 KRBE.

HD: Thank you very much. I appreciate all your support down there can't wait to
get down to Houston

SM: Outstanding. Ladies and gentlemen, Howie Dorough from the BACKSTREET
BOOOOYS!! *lots of clapping and cheering*

***After the interview Sam Malone talks about the Backstreet Boys and
now knowing how nice Howie is he says he is a fan of the Boys.***
Howie: Hello?

DJ: Who's this?

Howie: Howie D.

DJ: No, not Howie D.

Howie: Howie De one and only (majorly cheesy!!)

DJ: Howie D. from the Backstreet Boys! Incredible! Thank-you for the
call. I don't know if you remember or not, but we actually talked to
the whole group of Backstreet Boys when the last came out. Right when you
guys were just making it big.

Howie: Totally remember it. Totally, totally remember it.

DJ: You guys sang and "Quit Playing Games With My Heart" had just come
out and it was so cool and it's so nice that you called back! Two ten
times platinum records in one year...HELLO!

Howie: It's unbelieveable. A lot has changed since last time we saw
each other.

DJ: Yeah exactly. You guys have sold like, a, 20 million albums since
I last talked to you.

Howie: It's been unbelievable. I knock on wood every day.

DJ: We're gunna talk about a couple diffent things, but first I gotta know,
is that making you some money?

Howie: Ah...we're making a little more then a couple years ago.

DJ: You're wearing nicer underwear now, aren't ya?

Howie: Yeah, C.K. instead of Fruit of the Looms

DJ: There ya go! BSB wearing C.K.! (They go on to talk about underwear for
like twenty minutes....not too interesting, so I'll leave it out!)

DJ: A couple guys in the band are tying the knot. Tell me a little about that,
you know it's coming up.

Howie: Yeah, those poor guys are taking the handcuffs. They're walking the
plank!

DJ: (laughs) Well, who are they, whats the story, what are their girlfriends
names? Take down the info! You got the inside.

Howie: Well, oh boy (clears throat). Well, it's public now, so I think I can
go and tell ya. It's a Kevin and Brian, and they are actually getting married
to two lovely finances, Brian is getting married to a girl named Leigh Ann
Wallace and Kevin's getting married to Kristen.....Wilson I believe.

DJ: Yes, I think I heard that on Inside Edition! It's not like we get the
scoop up hear, so it's nice to hear it from Backstreet Boy. So, do they have
dates yet?

Howie: Not yet, I mean, we're trying to figure out our whole schedule and
everything that's going on here still so they're trying to work around
the schedule and everything.

DJ: Well, that's cool! Number one song in the country!

Howie: Well thank-you! I know, it's unbelievable (yes, we know by now!)!

DJ: Man, you guys are at the height now, it's incredible. Ah...
you recently got a new, well lets say your record company signed the
new act to your record label. Jive records just signed 'N Sync. What's
that like?

Howie: Um...it's quite interesting.

DJ: Did that piss you off? C'mon, be honest with me!

Howie: Them signing 'N Sync to our record label? Um, I wouldn't say it so
much pissed us off, I mean, I think we're constantly trying to set our own
stands or creating new trends, it just seems like every time, ya know,
something new comes out, a bunch of record companies wanna constantly copy it
and make another group just like it.

DJ: Oh! Look, that's working! Hey, lets see if we can do that!

Howie: Exactly! So we don't mind competition ya know, so we think it's all
friendly competition, but when it's coming from our backyard, it's a
little awkward feeling.

DJ: Right, I mean you guys were like the pristine thing going on, as
far as the boy band thing, and by the way I hate that term...

Howie: (laughs) You too?

DJ: Yeah...you too? But I mean you guys were the pristine, the innovaters,
the starters, for the 90's anyway, for the boy band thing and then ya know,
of course, you got Britney on your label as well, and it's like then they go
and say, oh wait, here's these guys and they're running a close second,
we're gunna go ahead and sign 'N Sync. I mean that's gotta, that's gotta
be, it's kind of like taking a little bit of the glory, especially
from people on your own team.

Howie: Right, I mean, it's just kind of, ya know, you're trying to set
your own plans or what you plan on doing, ya know, and when asked to do something,
and if say, well we don't really feel exactly doing the stuff at this
point, then there's always this fear, that okay well, it's going to go to
this person instead. And I think also, a lot of people don't really know the
whole background about 'N Sync with us and our previous management and
our previous record label over in Europe and ya know, just constantly
following a lot of the stuff we do, I mean like I say, I think the guys are
great, I wish them the best of luck, I actually went to school with one
of them, Chris. I actually got him involved in the business and everything,
and I wish them the best of luck, but at the end of the day it's just...

DJ: A Doug E. Doug world (what...???)

Howie: Exactly.

DJ: Alright, alright. I know you gotta go pretty soon so I just wanted to
hit a couple more things really quick...ah, are you guys going to go
into the studio real soon for another album? What's going on? Jeez,
you sold 10 million!

Howie: Yeah, well believe it or not, we wanna go do some more recording
and hopefully sell a couple more records.

DJ: Right are you tour any time soon?

Howie: Well, we're just finishing up this second leg of the tour here...

DJ: Right, so are you going to continue the Millennium tour through-out 2000
and then go back in the studio, or are you going to hit the studio before
summer's over?

Howie: Well, it's kinda weird. I think we're, I mean, we've pretty much
toured all over America and a little bit of Canada, and if anything, we
were talking about taking the tour over to South East Asia and South America.
But it's kind of wierd because we're in the round and most places over there
like arena's and stadiums and you really can't...if you've seen the show
we fly in and everything and we can't do all the stuff we normally do on this
show. So we're talking about possibly going into the studio, recording another
album, and then going back out and touring, maybe, after the release of the
album...September, October, November-ish...

DJ: Now with a couple of the guys getting married I mean is that going to
break up the group? That's what a lot of the girls and a lot of the guys
that are fans are worried about. Jeez, well, Backstreet Boys are going to break up because one of the guys are getting
married and the next thing you know their going to have kids and blah
blah blah blah blah! What's gunna happen?

Howie: No, no. Ya know what, it's one of those kind of things ya know, I
mean, we all have our own lives, ya know outside of the Backstreet Boys
as well, and um, we all wanna help each other, support each other, I mean,
besides even, ya know, private lives and social lives, a couple of us wanna
do some more entertainment. Like I'm trying now to start getting back
into acting, which I used to do before the Backstreet Boys kind of came along,
and AJ's doing some charity shows and he's doing his Johnny Suede. So
we're all very supportive as long as it doesn't take away from the
Backstreet group and everything, ya know, we're all very helpful to each
other and making sure that each other enjoys their life during all this
time instead of regretting it later on and saying I missed out on doing
this or I missed out on doing that.

DJ: Cool...so what's your favorite song from Millennium?

Howie: Um, my favorite song is probably, ahhhh, it's a toss between Spanish
Eyes and Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely

DJ: Ya know what? How bout, okay, number one song in the nation right now
SMTMOBL, Backstreet Boys, we're going to play that one in just a minute,
but you said Spanish Eyes...that one has never been played on the radio,
we're going to do that one right now!

Howie: Sounds good.

DJ: Howie D. from the Backstreet Boys! Give it up...yeah! (clapping)
(Play SMTMOBL instead of Spanish Eyes)

Howie: Thanks Paul and thanks 93 ZOO FM for all your support!

DJ: Yeah baby!

Howie: The Backstreet Boys!

DJ: Hey, thanks for your time dude.

Howie: Yeah man, no problem, my pleasure! Thank you for your time.

DJ: Yeah okay. Howie D. from the Backstreet Boys!!! (plays Spanish Eyes)

Interview with AJ and Howie in Koln, Germany. With VJ Tooske, from TMF (The Netherlands) Note from webmaster: AJ's in this interview too, but he has a couple more interviews than Howie, so to even it all out...this one's staying right here!
Tooske: AJ and Howie welcome. Thanks for being on our show today.

Howard and AJ: Thank you!

Tooske: Where are the rest of the guys?

AJ: They are in my pocket.....I have Nick in my pocket.....no.....
they are actually at home.....uhmmmmm......a couple of guys had...uhmmmm......
some personal things to take care of...and they are also still writing and
producing stuff...they are gonna meet up with us in the following week in the
UK and were gonna finish writing some more stuff for the new album.

Tooske: Are they preparing for their weddings?

Howard: Uhmmmm, yeah a couple of them are.....

Tooske: A couple of them are????

AJ: There is only two of them..... Tooske: Exactly.....Those two are
.....Which one of you is going to be the next to be married????

AJ: JOHN!!!!!

Tooske: John????

Howard: You mean Johnny No Name????

AJ: No, no, not Johhny No Name.....no, no....I don't know....we are not looking
to even get married any time soon.

Howard: No, nope.

AJ: We have a whole new album to work on....and we got things to do.

Tooske: What do you think the influence of their marriages might be on
the future of the Backstreet Boys....do you think they wanna be home more?

AJ: No

Howard: They might be......

AJ: No, they have
.....they have their fiancees now...they have them whereever they go pretty much. Howard: Yeah....I think it's gonna be the same....it's not that they just met those girls....

Tooske: They just added the ring

Howard: Yeah, they got the ring

(AJ: There doesn't change much.)

Tooske: The last time we talked was right for the major tour.....right for
the introduction actually of the Millennium album.....how do you l
ook back at that?

AJ: I can't remember.....I can't remember that far back

Tooske: Picture Amsterdam, June 5th......

AJ: Oh, now you are getting specific....

Tooske: In the Arena

AJ: Oh yes...

Howard: Remember with the haringfish and all that stuff???

Tooske: And you loved it, didn't you?

AJ: Not at all!!!!

Howard: I didn't

Tooske: Raw fish....

AJ: It was an experience...defenitely.....I mean the crowd....ESPECIALLY in
Holland was just insane!!!

Howard: Yeah, that was our biggest European concert.

AJ: 65,000 or 70,000 people.....it was SICK!!!

Tooske: I was amazed that....uhhmmmm....every time Nick tried to....I was
there....somewhere way way in the back....every time Nick started singing....
the crowd would be louder than Nick.

Howard: OH really???

Tooske: Did you notice???

Howard and AJ: NO!......we had ear monitors so we didn't really know......

Tooske: Oh sorry.

AJ: We didn't even hear Nick, cause we don't even wanna hear Nick

Howard: Exactly!....we don't wanna hear the fans screaming for him.

Tooske: But how did the tour go? The early days of the tour in The Netherlands,
and then you had a whole way to go.

AJ: The tour went splendid, it went really well....I mean it was long...
the last week was the longest actually...and we ended the actual tour ended
in Toronto.....in the second week of March??? Remember????

Howard: Yeah.

AJ: Somewhere in March.....yeah...and it was just....a lot of fun, it was just
a long tour.

Howard: Yeah!!! It was one leg in Europe and two legs in America.

Tooske: What is a leg?

Howard: A leg???

AJ: Right here, you got this (pointing at his leg...LMAO)

Tooske: I know that leg......I think he is talking about a different leg.

Howard: A leg is like a certain timespan.....2 months a month

AJ: 2 months 3 months....a certain area...we did Europe for like 3 months...we did the US for 3 months and then we came back to the US again and did it for 2 months.

Tooske: Is it something....I don't know, cause I've never done a worldtour
....is it that at....when it starts you think oh this is gonna be incredible
and at the end oh I want this to be over???

Howard: You know actually for me....when I start it it seems like wow it's gonna
be a long time...but then it starts to go kind of quickly then and at the
middle it starts dragging a bit....

AJ: YEAH!!! (with a deep voice)

Howard: And at the very end it's WOW were did it all go?

Tooske: Uhuh.

AJ: The first month is like....???.....making sure everything is right....
the middle is like dragging ass...and by the time you get to the end....it starts
to pick up speed but then like I said the last week of the tour felt like a year
.....just cause, we were all waiting to get to the end of the tour, to have some
time off, take a breather from it, you know, but.....we're gonna put
together a true worldtour for this next album, which means....

Tooske: You already planned the next one, huh?

Howard: Yup.

AJ: Once we finished the album and we figured out what this team will be and
what the title of the album will be and.....you know Millennium was more
that futuristic type of vibes.....and find a theme for this album and then....

Tooske: And when do you think this one will be ready?

Howard: We'll probably be done in a quarter here

AJ: Probably 2001 or 2002.

Howard: Maybe...

AJ: Ok....no, we'll hope fully be done soon.

Howard: Probably the end of August hopefully.

AJ: Yeah.

Tooske: Who are you making it with?

Howard: Actually the five of us went down to the Bahamas.....and did
some writing...

Tooske: You just had to go down to the Bahamas to write, huh

Howard and AJ: That's right.

Tooske: You didn't pick Iceland you picked the Bahamas.

Howard: It's in our contracts.

AJ: We had to go, where it's sunny and beachy and beautiful women.....
that's where we had to go.

Tooske: It's good for inspiration?

AJ and Howard: YES!!!

Howard: It's good to concentrate.

Tooske: So we'll get a whole album about beautiful women in the sunshine....
that's why we have this setting here too.

Howard: Everything now around us is in the Bahama style....it keeps us

AJ: Pom pom pom

Tooske: Is it gonna be Max Martin and his people again?

Howard: Yeah, we're actually gonna go to Sweden....

AJ: 2 weeks.

Howard: in 2 weeks

Tooske: Are you at all worried that...his sound is such a big thing now...
there are sooo many artists that use him to create a sound for them....and
you might sound like a whole bunch of other people?

Howard: Everybody sounds like us.

Tooske: But even if that's true a lot of people sound the same way.

Howard: Us were the first and that's all that is.

AJ: It's defenitely all good......I mean I think....whenever we work
with Max we always seem to... some of the songs are very similair....like I
WANT IT THAT WAY was the second coming of QUIT PLAYING GAMES....AS LONG AS YOU
LOVE ME and SHOW ME THE MEANING and all these songs...all these acoustic songs or what not....and then you have DON'T WANT
YOU BACK kind of threw a wrench at everything it was kinda different....you know.....

Tooske: Yeah

AJ: And LARGER THAN LIFE had the rock....DON'T WANT YOU BACK was more like
the hiphop.....we had the Latin song SPANISH EYES....we kinda threw
a couple songs in on the album that kinda changed our sound...just a little bit.
...but not drastic.

Tooske: That haven't been singles...YET.

AJ: I know...which really SUCKED, cause I wanted DON'T WANT YOU BACK to be the
last single...

Tooske: Me too, me too....is it going to be a single?

Howard: Nope....

Tooske: What's gonna be the next single?

Howard and AJ: I'LL BE THE ONE.

Tooske: I'LL BE THE ONE....why?

AJ: It was actually...I have been saying that it was a group idea, but actually
it was my idea....

Tooske: So modest, huh.

Howard: Hey, hey now, common....give a little credit to the rest of us
alright?

Tooske: Yeah alright.

[you should have heard the way Howard sounded and AJ looked when he said that.....oooooppppsssss.....LOL]

AJ: I brought......since, no....well, actually it was me and Howie's....since
the rest of the guys are not here.....I brought a suggestion up to the guys
a while back when we were up on the US tour...and I thought it would be kinda
cool if you would let our friends pick the next single.....all of us sat
and brainstormed.....and we picked 3 songs...and then we were gonna....Brian was
like why don't we shoot 3 videos......and show the fans and let them pick..
..and we were......we don't have time to do 3 videos dude....so we chose DON'T
WANT TO LOSE YOU KNOW, DON'T WNAT YOU BACK and THE ONE....and DON'T WANT
YOU BACK lost by one point.

Tooske: So you wanted that single, but didn't have it?

AJ: No....it would have been a good song.

Howard: See you messed yourself over....see with this brilliant idea it all
backfired on you....

AJ: It was Nick's fault....it wasn't my fault. (stop guys!!!! No, need to fight,
huh :-) )

Tooske: It was nobodies fault, butbutbutbut...we wanna know about the video..
..is it done?

Howard: Yes, it's done.

Tooske: What does it look like?

Howard: It's actually a compilation of the whole last year...all of our
touring....you actually see some touring from Europe.

Tooske: Ohhhhhhh, N'sync has a video with that.

AJ and Howard: We just heard that, yeah.

Howard; But that's ok.....

AJ: Ours is better...and it was our idea.

Tooske: Is it that style?

AJ: Yeah, but I mean, we.....we also do a lot of the behind the scene stuff....just us messin around......doing
stupid stuff.....riding the bus...playing basketball.....uhmmm...
..meeting some of the sick children that we have on our shows from MAKE A
WISH FOUNDATION....meet some of the kids that have cancer...or whatever.

Howard: We have shots like the Rolling Stone photo-shoot....

AJ: With our pants on the floor.

Howard: And MTV.

Tooske: Oh really?

AJ: We dropped our pants for the cover

Howard: Did you see that?

Tooske: Yeah, I saw that.....so when can we expect you back in The Netherlands?

AJ: As soon as we finished the new album.

Tooske: Because you guys.....we missed you at this years TMF Awards.

Howard: I know...we were, uhhhhh... (she is getting their award)

AJ: Ahhhh, does it still light up?

Tooske: No, it doesn't.....

AJ: Ahhhh man(this was a disappointing ahhhh)

Tooske: It doesn't need to.

AJ: I know...

Tooske: We missed you a lot and you were nominated for BEST LIVE ACT...cause
everybody was crazy about your concert in June.....so you won

Howard: Oh, thank you....we wanted to come here, but it was at the exact
same time that one of our personal secretaries was getting married....in
Miami....so

Tooske: Alright, so a whole country suffered for one wedding?

Howard: Yeah, y'all should be very mad with her.

AJ: Yeah, you should be very mad with Nicole not us.

Howard: Give her number.

Tooske: So you promiss at least try to be there whenever there might
be another.....cause if you never show up people might stop giving it to you.

AJ: Yeah.

Howard and AJ: we don't want that.

Tooske: Who wants it?

AJ: Me!!!!

Howard: I'll take it.

AJ: No, no.

Tooske: Don't drop it, don't break it....alright let me say goodbye.
