The Perfect Fan

Chapter Seven

The food came out about a half hour after we ordered it. The people were nice, the service was great, the place was gorgeous, it was a really friendly atmosphere. Everything was really nice. The guys we're awsome also, except the fact that Lisa would sneak me a dirty look when Kevin wasn't looking.

"I don't think she like me very much." I leaned over towards A.J keeping my voice as low as possible.

"I think she's just jealous. She doesn't really like it when our...well fans, become friends, she says she doesn't trust them. Not to worry though, I promise she won't say anything to you." He smiled, A.J was very sexy I didn't really notice it 'till now. He was though. I thought about it for a moment, before my thoughts were interuptted by a voice.

"I'm sorry what were you saying?" I shook my head, and tried focusing. Lisa rolled her eyes.

"I asked you, what you do for a living.." under her breath I heard her mumble something but didn't quite catch it.

"I own an Art gallery, in Tampa. What is it that you do?"

"I don't need a job right now." she placed her hand over Kevin's and looked up with him, and smiled. Now I'm not one to judge people on first impressions, but in this case, I would analyze, that Lisa is a two-faced stuck-up princess. How could I think such thoughts though, she was probally a sweetheart. I focused back on the conversation Howie was talking about opening a condoninum development in Orlando. Everyone passed their comments about how great that would be for him, to be doing something, yada yada. The waiter came with our check. I tried to convince the guys to let me pay, when they didn't agree, I suggested at least half, and with no agreement I suggested to pay the tip, but with three against one, it was an unfair battle, and ended with the guys winning.

"Should we all, go out for coffe or something like that?" Howie suggested it but it was nearing 11, and I needed to get home for Sam.

"I really, should be getting home actually.."

"Aw that's a shame, well it was nice meeting you." Lisa clung to Kevin's arm, like a child holding his teddy bear, holding on for dear life.

"Aw c'mon Cait, we won't stay long there's a cool cafe, a few minutes away from here.."

"A.J I can't I need to get home." He sighed.

"Ok." We walked out to Kevin's car.

On the ride home, Howie was back on his cell, and Lisa was making every word that came out of Kevin's mouth, be addressed to her. A.J and I talked about nothing really, just small talk. When Kevin was nearing Lisa's house, she spoke up kickly.

"Kevin, sweetheart, why don't you drop Caitlin off first, since she needs to get home and all." she smiled and rubbed him arm. He nodded. We approched the house, Kevin pulled up along the sidewalk, the lights were off in the house, but I saw a light on, the third floor. A.J got out of the car and help me out.

"I'll walk you to the door." he smiled and I smiled back.

"Thanks A.J I had a wonderfull time, it was all perfect."

"Wait 'till I get you out to some of the hottest clubs in orlando, THAN you can say it was fun." he smiled and looked at his feet. I lifted his chin with my finger.

"I can't wait."

"And we'll hafta go out for coffe next time." I laughed, and I trned to the door seeing that Sam had forgotten to lock the door I turned to A.J."How about I call you tomorrow, before I leave work, we can make plans or something."

"Yes! I mean sure, sounds cool." he nodded his head. I waved to the other guys in the car, A.J gave me a small kiss on the cheek, and walked back to the car. After they pulled away I went into the house. "Wow." leaning up against the door, I closed my eyes and sighed.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I slowly walked downstairs, I held on to my basketball tightly, not sure what I was going to use it for if someone ws breaking in. I went down the back stairs, that lead into the the kitchen hallway, I tripped over a couch, but was quiet, I heard muffled voices, but couldn't make them out. The door opened, and I remembered I didn't lock it. The door slowly opened and quietly closed, I crept over by the living room wall and threw the ball at the door.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I heard something move threw the house, squinting my eyes, I could make out a figure the next thing I knew, I felt a sharp pain in my stomach.

"OWWWW!"

"Shit!"

A light quickly turned on, and Sam came runnning over to me. Slumping down to the floor I sat up agains the door. I gasped for air, and Sam started giggling, I found myself laughing too. Even though I should have been furious."You got great aim, even in the dark." She sat besides me and the two of us laughed like idiots. After wiping the tears off her face, Sam stood up, holding out her hand helping me up."Ok girl you spill al the details on dinner. But first lemme go get that pint of cookie dough ice cream and meet me in my room in 5 minutes." I giggled and went upstairs to get changed. I loved having Sam here with me, It was like having a younger sister, that I like didn't hate. She's very cool, and very
mature for her age. I changed into my silk P.Js, and walked up a flight of stairs and down the halls, to Sam's room. I walked over, and sat on her bed. She returned in 3 minutes with 2 cartons of ice cream and spoons.

"Mint Chocolate Chip for you, and Cookie Dough for me." she handed it to me and I opened the carton. I told Sam the whole story, and before long we were both fast asleep.
