Chapter Two

Turns out Aj's BBQ was a bust. Shocking I know. I went expecting to have so much fun. What did I do? Sat there bored out of my mind; yeah, everybody else was having fun, but Nick found it suiting to abandon me, leaving me to fend for myself. Apparently Aj invited every freaking Orlandoian to the BBQ that I thought was just going to be the Backstreet "family." So anyway, Nick saw some "fine chick" that he just had to "go chill with" for the night. Needless to say I got pretty pissed. The only person that made any kind of attempt to talk to me was Howie. Did you know he could talk and talk and talk and never once say anything interesting? Don't get me wrong, I love Howie to death but he definitely does not help a boring situtiong become and funnier.

I found Brian later that night sitting with some guy. Walking up to Brian I asked him if I could go chill at his house for awhile. I didn't even want to know what was going on at mine and Nick's house. Brian agreed handing me his house key. Getting in my car I drove the half hour to Brian's house. Setting down on the couch I turned the TV on deciding my life totally sucked.

Brian called that night around 10 telling me he was on his way home. How sweet is that? I think he knows about Nick. Brian knows I like Nick, he's the only one I tell stuff like that to. To tell you the truth, I really thought I got over Nick, but I guess I proved myself wrong. I'm used to Nick doing this. He's not mama's perfect boy, it's just didn't bother me until now.

"Damn him."

Do you know it takes Brian an hour to drive a half hour trip? Of course he did bring food from the store. Only one bag though. Here's my conclusion: Either Brian is a really slow driver, or a really slow shopper.

"Hey, I brought you some icecream." Oh my gosh I love him so much.

"Thanks Bri. Oooh chocolate. I lova ya."

"I know. I AM Brian Littrell you know."

"You mind if I take this up to a guest room and crash here for the night?"

"No, go ahead."

Walking into the kitchen I grabbed the biggest spoon I could find and went up to one of the guest rooms. I fell asleep that night with the TV on and a VERY full stomach. I ate ALL that icecream.

Either Nick is just totally dense or doesn't care about me. He didn't realize I wasn't home until noon the next day. I'm so glad Nick loves me.

He called Brian's house asking him if he knew where I was. When Brian told him I was here Nick flipped out. Sooner or later Brian told me Nick wanted to talk to me. I took the phone out on to the deck. As soon as I answered I was fired with about 50 questions all in one breath.

Impressive.

"I didn't want to break up your little party Nick."

"What are you talking about?"

"The girl Nick, I saw you leave with her."

"We didn't do anything Maria."

"Bull shit Nick. I know how you are. I have to go now. I'll be home sometime tonight."

And then I huung up on him. I was so mad at him it wasn't even funny. What makes him think he can lie to me and get away with it? Jerk.

After I hung up with Nick I told Brian I was going to go shopping then head home. Just incase Mr. Wonderful called again to ask when I was coming home.

After shopping for about 3 hours I decided to head home. By the time I got back to our neighborhood it was 4 o'clock. After parking the car I walked in the house. I couldn't find Nick anywhere so I decided to check the pool. Did I find him there? Uh-huh. Skinny dipping with the chick from the party. Neither of them noticed me so I cleared my throat. As soon as the girl saw me she swam to the ledge, grapped her towel hurriedly getting out of the pool. She whispered 'sorry' as she walked past. She must have thought I was his girlfriend. Good for her. Turning around I saw Nick crawling out of the pool.

'Oh he would not. He's smirking. That asshole planned the whole thing.'

He started walking towards me and stop right infront of me.

"Hi Maria."

Looking behind him I saw that he was right on the ledge. With all my might I pushed him into the pool. Turning around I grabbed his towel and cloths then walked into the house, locking him out.

'HA Nickolas, jokes on you.'

Did you know storms can come without warning? Sure you do. Well that happened an hour later. Nick had been pounding on the door a little while ago, but when we realized I wasn't going to let him in he gave up.
But when it started lightning really bad he started pounding on the door again. Grabbing his robe I decided to let him in? Besides what good is a dead friend? Opening the door I threw him his robe and hurried to the livingroom hoping he'd leave me alone.

No such luck. He followed me.

"I'm sorry Maria."

"Yeah right Nick. You knew I was coming home but you brought her here anyway. Leave me alone."

"I was just mad."

"Yea well now I'm mad. Please just leave me alone for awhile."

And that he did.

The next morning I woke up, lucky for Nick, in a much better mood. I was used to Nick acting like that. He's spiteful, and if he's mad at you he's going to do his best to make you mad too. I've never really understood his logic, but hey, he IS a guy, no one ever said they were understandable.

After taking a quick shower I went down to the kitchen finding Nick sitting on the table eating something, what though I'm not quite sure, but it looked gross.

"Morning." he said with a mouthful of the goop he called breakfast. He's lucky I didn't throw up right then and there.

"Mornin'." I replied sitting as far away from him as possible.

"I'm sorry about yesterday."

"It's alright. I'm over it."

"Then why are you sitting way down there?"

"Because you're food is making me sick."

"Oh, well, I didn't mean the barbeque anyway."

"What did you mean?" I asked eyebrows raised. His answer could possible get him into A LOT of trouble.

"The pool."

Oh the pool. Yeah that WASN'T okay. So I'll just lie.

"It's okay. Nothing I haven't seen before.

And that was true. I can't even count how many times I've walked into the bathroom while he was taking a shower because he forgot to lock the door. I remember the first day I stayed here. Nick came walking downstairs without any cloths on because he forgot I was there. And it never embarrasses him. He amazes me.

"Yeah, you have a point there." Nick replied smirking.

I think he actually likes doing stuff like that.
