Text Effects - Chrome Text

The DOWNLOAD file contains the following file...

Caligula.ttf

Just download to any file and unzip to your Windows>Fonts folder.

.

Go to FILE>NEW and use these settings...

Width: 400

Height: 200

Background color: White

Click ok. Click on your foreground color (top box) and set it to white. Now click on the background color (bottom box) and set it to white. Click the text tool and click on the center of the pic now let's pick a font. I'm using Caligula, Bold, Size 48, make sure Floating is checked and click ok. With it still selected go to SELECTIONS>MODIFY>FEATHER and feather by 3 pixels. Click on your foreground color (top box) and set it like this...

Red: 0

Green: 0

Blue: 255

Now click on the background color (bottom box) and set it like this...

Red: 255

Green: 0

Blue: 0

Now click the flood fill tool and set your control palette like this...

Fill Style: Linear Gradient

Match mode: None

Tolerance: 0

Opacity: 100

Click Options and set those like this...

Fill Style: Linear Gradient

Blend Mode: Normal

Direction: 0 degrees

Click ok. Now click inside each letter to flood fill.

Click on your foreground color (top box) and set it like this...

Red: 128

Green: 128

Blue: 128

Now click on the background color (bottom box) and set it to white.

Now go to IMAGE>EFFECTS>CUTOUT and use these settings...

Make sure Fill interior with color IS checked

Interior color: Foreground color

Shadow Color: Background Color

Opacity: 100

Blur: 0

Vertical: 4

Horizontal: 4

Click ok. Now go to SELECTIONS>SELECT NONE. Now click the little arrow to switch the foreground and background colors. Go to IMAGE>OTHER>HOT WAX COATING. Now go to IMAGE>SHARPEN>SHARPEN. Go to COLORS>ADJUST>BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST and use these settings...

% Brightness: 20

% Contrast: 20

Click ok. Now mine looks like this...
