Text Effects - 3D Brushed Text

The DOWNLOAD file contains the following files...

font1.ttf

Download and unzip to your Windows>Fonts folder.

Open PSP, go to FILE>NEW and use these settings...

Width: 400

Height: 200

White Background

Select White as your foreground color (top box) and your background color (bottom box), click the text tool and select the Background Font 2, Bold, Size 48, make sure Floating is checked and click ok. Go to IMAGE>NOISE>ADD and use these settings...

%Noise: 25

Select Random

Click ok. Go to IMAGE>BLUR>MOTION BLUR and use these settings...

Direction: 40

Intensity: 33

Click ok. Go to IMAGE>OTHER>HOT WAX COATING. Now you could leave it white and go on to the Cutout & Drop shadow part and it would look like this...

But that just looks kinda plain. So after the hot wax let's add some color by going to Color>Colorize I used these settings...

Hue: 195

Saturation: 135

But you can play with these settings until you get the color you like. Now mine looks like this...

Ok, let's give the 3D look by going to IMAGE>EFFECTS>CUTOUT use these settings...

Make sure Fill interior with color isn't checked

Shadow Color: White

Opacity: 100

Blur: 0.8

Vertical: 3

Horizontal: 3

Click ok.

Now let's add a drop shadow by going to IMAGE>EFFECTS>DROP SHADOW use these settings...

Color: Black

Opacity: 100

Blur: 9.8

Vertical: 2

Horizontal: 2

Click ok. Now it looks like this...
