Text Effects - Gem Text

The DOWNLOAD file contains
the font I used for this.

Open PSP
Open a new file
Width: 300
Height: 200
Black background
.Select a foreground color
of your choice, a bright "gem" color like ruby red, sapphire
blue or emerald green. I picked red. Click the text tool and
click on the pic and select a font. I picked American Text BT, Bold,
size 36, make sure to check Floating. Click "Ctrl D" on your
keyboard to deselect the text. Go to IMAGE>BLUR>BLUR MORE 2 times.
Go to IMAGE>OTHER>DILATE 2 times. Go to
IMAGE>DEFORMATIONS>WIND and use these settings...
Strength: 10
Check From Right
Click ok.
Go to IMAGE>DEFORMATIONS>WIND and use these
settings...
Strength: 10
Check From Left
Click ok. Go to IMAGE>ROTATE use these
settings...
Direction: Left
Degrees: 90
Click ok.
Go to IMAGE>DEFORMATIONS>WIND and use these
settings...
Strength: 10
Check From Right
Click ok.
Go to IMAGE>DEFORMATIONS>WIND and use these
settings...
Strength: 10
Check From Left
Click ok.
Click ok. Go to IMAGE>ROTATE use these
settings...
Direction: Right
Degrees: 90
Click ok. Go to IMAGE>BLUR>BLUR MORE.
Go to COLORS>ADJUST>BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST and set
both to 10 and click ok. Select white as your foreground color. Click
the text tool and center the same text over your glow. Click "Ctrl
D" on your keyboard to deselect the text. Mine looks like this...
Go to IMAGE>OTHER>DILATE up to five times
depending on how big your text it. I did mine two times. Go to
IMAGE>BLUR>BLUR MORE. Select your gem color again as your
foreground color. Mine is red. Click the text tool and center the same
text over the white. Mine looks like this...
Leave that selected and go to IMAGE>NOISE>ADD
and use these settings...
%Noise: 100
Check Random
Click ok. 2 times. Go to IMAGE>OTHER>HOT WAX
COATING. Go to COLORS>ADJUST>HUE/SATURATION/LIGHTNESS using these
settings...
%Hue: 100
%Saturation: 100
%Lightness: 65
Click ok. Now I clicked the selection tool and
drew a rectangle as close to the colors as I could get. Then I went to
IMAGE>CROP TO SELECTION. Then I made sure white was my background
color and went to IMAGE>ADD BORDERS I checked Symmetric and set them
to 10. Then I went to IMAGE>EFFECTS>BUTTONIZE and used these
settings...
Check Transparent Edge
Height: 15
Width: 15
Opacity: 80
Click ok. Then I saved it as a .jpg and this is
what it looks like...
