Text Effects - Ice Effect Text with a Filter

 

The DOWNLOAD file contains the following file...

snowecap.ttf

Needed also is Filter Factory A (Pool Shadow)

Get it HERE for free

 

Download and unzip. Then open Explorer and find the file you unzipped to. Copy the font file or the .ttf file and go to your Windows font file and paste it there. Then go back to where you unzipped the files to and copy the plugin file or the .8bf file and go to your PSP plugins file and paste it there.

Open PSP.

Create a new file using these settings...

Width: 440

Height: 180

Background color: white

Resolution: 100

Click ok. Set your foreground color to a light gray and your background color to white. Click the text tool and pick the font called Snowecaps, Bold, size 48, make sure the boxes beside Antialias & Floating is checked and click ok. Go to SELECTIONS>SELECT NONE. Click the retouch tool and if your control palette isn't up click the control palette tool and use these settings on the control palette...

Tool Controls...

Retouch mode: Smudge

Paper Texture: None

Brush Tip...

Shape: Round

Size: 5

Opacity: 70

Hardness: 0

Density: 100

Step: 25

Now look at your text you are going to add an icicle where ever there's a dip in the snow by pointing the tip of the brush at the dip click the left button hold it down and move the brush downward alittle. Do that on all the dips. Ok, change the foreground color to white and go to IMAGE>OTHER>HOT WAX COATING. Now it looks like this...

Ok, let's add some color. Go to COLORS>COLORIZE and use these settings...

Hue: 135

Saturation: 200

Now the text is a pretty blue. Now click the text tool again and lay the same text on top of the blue text like this...

Go to IMAGE>PLUG-IN FILTERS>FILTER FACTORY A>POOL SHADOW and use these settings...

Now let's go to COLORS>COLORIZE and use the same settings as before. Now go to COLORS>ADJUST>GAMMA CORRECTION and use these settings...

Red: 2.2

Green: 2.2

Blue: 2.2

Now you can crop your text and buttonize it and this is what it looks like...
