Text effects - Cutouts For 3D

Go to FILE>NEW

Width: 300

Height: 100

Background color: White

Click ok. Pick any color. I picked a dark blue. Place your text. I picked Heather Font, Bold, size 36. Go to IMAGE>EFFECTS>CUTOUT Use these settings...

Make sure the box beside...Fill interior with color isn't checked.

Shadow Color: White

Opacity: 80

Blur: 2

Vertical: 2

Horizontal: 2

Click ok. Repeat the cutout but this time use these settings...

Make sure the box beside...Fill interior with color isn't checked.

Shadow Color: Black

Opacity: 80

Blur: 2

Vertical: -2

Horizontal: -2

Click ok. Now you can add a drop shadow. Mine looks like this...
