Text effects - Glowing Text

Glowing Text 1

Go to FILE>NEW with the following settings...

Width: 250

Height: 100

Background Color: Black

Click ok. Click the foreground color box and pick a light bright color that will be your "Glow". I picked light green. Click the background color box and pick Black. Click your text tool and pick a font. I picked Balloon XBd BT font, Bold, size 26. Click ok. Save the selection by going to SELECTIONS>SAVE TO DISK, type in a name and where it says SAVE AS TYPE make sure beside it says PSP Selection (*.Sel) click Save. Go to SELECTIONS>SELECT NONE. Go to IMAGE>OTHER>DILATE. I did that 3 times. Go to IMAGE>BLUR>BLUR MORE. Go to SELECTIONS>LOAD FROM DISK and pick the one you just saved, click open. Click the flood fill tool . Click the foreground color box and pick a darker color. I picked dark green. Now flood fill each letter. Now it looks like this...

Go to FILE>NEW with the following settings...

Width: 250

Height: 100

Background Color: Black

Click ok. Click the foreground color box and pick a light bright color that will be your "Glow". I picked a hot pink. Click the background color box and pick Black. Click your text tool and pick a font. I picked Black Chancery font, Bold, size 28. Click ok. Save the selection by going to SELECTIONS>SAVE TO DISK, type in a name and where it says SAVE AS TYPE make sure beside it says PSP Selection (*.Sel) click Save. Go to SELECTIONS>MODIFY>FEATHER by 5 pixels

Click ok. Click the Flood Fill tool. Set your Control Palette like this...

Fill Style: Solid color

Match mode: RGB Value

Tolerance: 200

Opacity: 100

If your Control Palette isn't up you can bring it up by clicking the control palette button . Now flood fill inside the dotted lines. I did mine 10 times. Now it looks like this...

Go to SELECTIONS>LOAD FROM DISK and pick the one you just saved, click open. Click the flood fill tool. Click the foreground color box and pick a darker color. I picked Black. Now flood fill each letter. Now it looks like this...
