How to make a Satin Edge on a
Nameplate
.
I have had a lot of requests for this tut so I
hope it will help.
The DOWNLOAD file contains
the following files...
angeldeer.jpg
frpeel.tex
Download and unzip to any file. Open Explorer and go
to where you unzipped the files to and cut the file frpeel.tex and go to
PROGRAM FILES>PSP>PAPERS and paste it there. You may not need to
do that because some PSP programs comes with the frpeel.tex file, mine
did.
Open PSP. Open the pic named angeldeer.jpg which
looks like this...
Go to IMAGE>EFFECTS>BUTTONIZE I used these
settings...
Height: 10
Width: 10
Opacity: 87
Check Transparent Edge
Click ok. Now we need to pick a color for the satin.
Click the background color box and select a color. I picked a light
purple .
Now go to IMAGE>ADD BORDERS check Symmetric and put 10 in the first
box that will put it in all the boxes and click ok. Click the magic wand
and click on
the border we just added. Now go to IMAGE>PLUG-IN FILTERS>FILTER
FACTORY GALLERY A>POOL SHADOW, now when the dialog box comes up it
will show the pool shadow on the whole pic but don't worry it will only
put it on the part that is selected which is the border. You can leave
the settings as they are and just click ok or you can play around with
them. I used the following...
Control 1: 151
Control 2: 192
Control 3: 182
Control 4: 160
Control 5: 79
Control 6: 192
Shadow Intensity: 108
Brightness: 126
Click ok. Now it looks like this...
You can stop here and buttonize the border or leave
it the way it is but I learned something from another tut that I'm going
to show you. Go to SELECTIONS>SELECT NONE. Now for your background
color you want to pick a color that is darker than your first color. I
picked black. Now let's add another border exactly the same size as
before. Click the magic wand and click on the new border to select it.
Click on the air brush .
Ok, bring up the control palette by clicking the tool .
On the Tools Control tab under Paper texture click the little arrow and
select Fruit Peel. Click the Brush Tip tab and use these settings...
Shape: Round
Size: 200
Hardness: 0
Opacity: 100
Density: 55
Step: 25
Now make sure your foreground color is white and
spray around the border. I did mine about 3 times around. Ok, now go to
SELECTIONS>SELECT NONE. Make sure you have white for your background
color and go to IMAGE>EFFECTS>BUTTONIZE I used these settings this
time...
Height: 10
Width: 10
Opacity: 66
Check Transparent Edge
Click ok. I added my name and this is what it looks
like...
Here's another one I made but on this one after I
sprayed the white on the black border I did a wax coating then sprayed a
bunch of different colors on it...
