To test the rapid oxidation qualities of a Strawberry Pop-Tart.
Before the test, both the control and the experimental Strawberry Pop-Tarts were assumed to be within the range that would be seen as a "normal" Pop-Tart.
Immediate Results:
In our first attempt to check the oxidation properties, we tried to use put the Strawberry Pop-Tart in contact with a flame-thrower. When it was assumed that there was no propane left, another idea came to us as we were found trapped under a shed from the rain of cats and dogs. Campfire.
The Pop-Tart was doused in a large quantity of old gasoline used for a lawnmower. When the tiny campfire was lit and going, the Pop-Tart immediately caught on fire. At this point the entire Pop-Tart began to turn black. The "strawberry" filling began to ooze out of the top of the Pop-Tart. The once white icing was now a brownish gunk melting off the pastry. After about ten minutes of flaming Pop-Tart, the fire was put out, leaving a charred mass with brown liquid oozing out of it. Throughout this process, the control did not change.
Long Term Results:
Once the fire was out, the burned Strawberry Pop-Tart did not change, except that the oozing liquid quit oozing and the Pop-Tart was now very hard and stunk. There was still no change in the control.
Strawberry Pop-Tarts will burn just like anything else drenched in gasoline.
