Attack on America

I don't know why I'm writing this and publishing it. Like my mother has said in the past, no one needs to know how I feel, especially not the entire world. However, when I write my feelings down and express myself I feel better about what is going on around me. This is the reason for this submission onto my website. I think a lot of emphasis has been put into revenge by the media, and I believe someone needs to say something with a more level head. Not being American probably helps with my level-headedness. Although I do believe that growing up as close as I have to the US I still feel remorse and empathy towards my brothers and sisters south of myself. So many people have lost their lives in the past few days and I want to first say a few words to them.
"No matter what is the outcome of this, I'm positive that no one will ever forget the emense loss that your country felt on Sept 11, 2001. Your lives were not lost in vain however. Much good will and should come of this great catastrophe and I believe the US will continue to show it's powerful role in throughout the world."
Now I would like to address the situation again. I feel, like I said before, that too much emphasis has been put on revenge. I do indeed think that the people to blame for this tragedy should be punished to the full extent of the law, but punishing an entire country or people is not the way to do this. I do not feel that people should be persecuted until enough evidence has been found that leads the US Government to the terrorists. I myself have even felt fear when dealing with people of the Islamic faith since the incident Tuesday morning. In fact that is one of the things that inspired me to write this in my website. I felt ashamed that I felt some rage towards the people I delt with earlier today simply because they were Islamic. All I really have to say about this is that someone needs to address this issue, not for racism reasons, because that is not the issue. The issue is fear of this religion because as of late so much emphasis has been put on their damnation of the Christian faith. I for one am vowing right now, to all of you that I do not want to live in a country that fears attacks on it's people by another country. And I am willing to put aside some of the things I have taken for granted so that my family, friends and fellow countrymen can feel as safe as we always have in the past.
