Recently there's been much discussion about the importance of fats, called omega 6 and omega 3 and their importance in healthy nutrition. It would appear, from research and clinical trials, ans well as mountains of anecdotal evidence, some of which I could contribute to myself, that a lack of Omega 3 fats is at the root of much depression. Omega 3s are found in foods such as sardines, cod liver oil, hempseed oil, flax oil and others.

The more it is tested, the more compelling the hypothesis that we need Omega 3 becomes. Dyslexia, ADHA, dyspraxia and other neurological problems seem to be associated with a deficiency omega 3 fatty acids, especially in the womb. Diseases such a depression, chronic fatigue syndrome and dementia seem to be linked to a deficiency in such fats.

Last year a published study of 117 children suffering from dyspraxia showed that the results of supplements of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids were extraordinary. In 3 months the reading age of the experimental group rose by an average of 9.5 months, whilst the control group’s rose by 3.3. So it would seem the government’s plan to give fish oil supplements is a wise one. Omega 3 oils or the lack of them are also implicated in depression and other similar 'mental health' issues, yet standard establisment practice is the use of anti-depressants and anti-psychotics, such as prozac, ritalin, seroxat and so on. ???

The only problem with fish oil ..... is that there are not enough fish. (Read “End Of The Line : How Overfishing Is Changing the World and What We Eat” by Charles Clover). From a sane perspective it is difficult to understand why we would all rush to have oil from fish stocks that live in polluted waters (full of mercury, plastics, dioxins, heavy elements, etc - did you know that in parts of the ocean there are more parts plastic than plankton, by weight?) and whose liver stores the poisons – much fish oil comes from fish liver…

So Hemp? It contains all of the essential fatty acids for health. So does flax as some other seeds. However hemp seed proteins advantage for human use is that 65% of it is “globulin edistin”. This means that Hemp’s protein is readily available in a form quite similar to that found in blood plasma. Thus Hemp seed oil makes sense as it is the premier plant seed provider of globulin starting material – the highest in the plant kingdom. Taking Hemp oil ensures the immune system has the reservoir of immunoglobulin resources needed to make disease destroying antibodies and assists the brain in keeping/developing all those essentials inks. It has the perfect balance of Omega 3 to Omega 6, the only plant oil to offer this and essential for optimum brain function..And it tastes nice too!

Did you know that the Food Industry, those lovely bio-engineering types have decided to help us out, especially our children, by feeding fish to cows, so that the milk has extra omega 3 fats in it (Natural Omega 3 fats are found in fish, as well as flax, hemp and other sources - did I say that already?) Other bright sparks are even genetically engineering cows with fish genes, to produce meat with more omega 3s!

We got BSE from feeding cattle with cattle! What will we get with feeding fish to cows? Children with Gills? When was the last time you saw a cow fishing?

And even better - clone agriculture! Yup - farming in the US is set to go even further into the surreal, with mass animal cloning! Read more

is not only possible, it has already happened!!

Grow yer own food! Since 1987, when the Russian subsidies to Cuba came to a halt, the Cubans have built up a bio-dynamic, permaculture based food production sytem, ranging from window boxes, to gardens, municipal spaces and small farms ....It's a remarkable success story, of a people connected to their own food production, growing enough to provide a wide variety of foods, and sharing the benefits in terms of welfare, health and community spirit. Here's a few write-ups on how they did it, and where they are now. Inspiring. Consider this : if you grow your own food, are you not free?
