TREVOR THOMAS CRAIG

Cherylann was 18 when she decided she wanted someone to love all for herself, and she found a bond with her new baby, Trevor Thomas.

She use to love watching him play, get in and out of the bottom of the stove drawer, take out clothes from dresser drawers and crawl in, and play with his motorcycle toy. He loved Lego, but he especially loved to read. He was reading at a 16 year old level by grade one.

Cherylann married in 1984 and Gary raised Trevor as his own. Trevor enjoyed computers from a very young age, taking things apart, getting into things he shouldn't, and boy was he restless! Cherylann and Gary had no other children.

As a child Trevor played soccer, baseball, and belonged to Beavers and Cub Scouts. Gary was the coach and leader in these activities.

Very early it was determined that Trevor was gifted intellectually. He was bored in school and had many difficulties. He worked as a dishwasher at Hyatt Regency Vancouver when he was 15 for over 2 years and bought his first car. Unfortunately, drugs got a hold on Trevor and he took a downward spiral for several years, until he was 21.

Trevor fathered two beautiful children during this time; Dylan Thomas (b. 1998), and (Kaitlyn Marie b. 2000). He was struggling to redeem his life and decided to go to college and study Heavy Duty Mechanics. He completed the program with flying colors and met the love of his life, Ximi, in 2001 in the university dorms. Ximi was a foreign student from Guatemala, studying Tourism Management.

Trevor loved to surround himself with his girls, but the one who caught and held his heart was his college sweetheart. Trevor flew to Guatemala to ask her dad if it would be okay to marry Ximi! They were married on January 18, 2003.

Trevor's favorite foods were his moms Roast Beef Dinner with Yorkshire Pudding, Kraft Dinner, and Pickles. He lived each day as if it were his last. He was happy, always bouncing up the stairs when he came home, and always gave his mother a kiss and hug. Trevor had few friends, but the ones he had he was loyal to the end.

Trevor's biggest love was his wife, Ximi. They were joined at the hip since their marriage, six months before the accident. Trevor was just starting to get to know his daughter, Kaitlyn Marie, and was trying to get access to his son, Dylan Thomas, when he passed away.

Trevor's favorite time of year was Christmas, and his favorite part was opening his stocking. We use to wrap all his stocking gifts and he loved that.

In the end Trevor's hobbies were working out, watersports, skiing, working on his BMW that was a wedding gift from Ximi's parents, hanging around his wife and friends, and visiting his daughter as often as he could. He was very handy around the house, which he learned from his father, Gary.

Trevor was a very sensitive boy. He could cry without fear, and he often gave his mother special gifts that really meant something, like a poem in a frame, a picture of Princess Diana when she died, earrings, and more. Cherylann felt so close to Trevor throughout his life, she stood by him through the good, bad and good times again.

Trevor was offered his first Heavy Duty Mechanics position with a reputable company in Edmonton, Alberta. Trevor and Ximi packed their furniture and moved to the next province. Two weeks later, and two days before he was to start his new career, he was killed in a horrific car crash. Ximi was saved by rescuers who pulled her badly beaten body from the wreck. Before they could get to Trevor the car burst into flames. Trevor died by massive internal and external injuries, with burns to over 80% of his body.

Trevor's personality, charm, wicked sense of humor, good looks, and intelligence did not go unnoticed by anyone who met him. He is sorely missed.
