The site opens with a Biography of Thornton Wilder, followed by an outline of some of his various writings, including Heaven's My Destination and The Skin Of Our Teeth. This section may be of interest to teachers and pupils preparing Our Town for GCSE as it explains the inspiration behind the play, Gertrude Stein's The Making Of Americans, and comments on Wilder's ability to deal with universal themes in a most moving manner.
