"Re-Anointed"

Sunnydale used to be a nice town. You could walk your dog or wash your car without a care in the world. It wasn't one of those towns that you could leave your door unlocked all the time, though. Hell, those towns don't even exist anymore. However, Sunnydale was the closest thing to it. "Was"being the operative word. That all changed when a certain girl came to town.

Buffy wasn't a bad kid, no matter what Principal Snyder thought. True, her grades were slipping and her "Days absent" list was growing like a sumo wrestler's grocery bill, but it wasn't her fault. If only she could tell everyone. Then her mom, the principal and pretty much everyone else would just leave her alone. Maybe even like her. But nooooo. Got to keep a low profile. Got to keep inconspicuous. She knew the drill. Blah blah blah sacred duty blah blah chosen one yadda yadda yadda. Stupid slayer crap...

Buffy was thinking all of these things for the hundredth time that day. A Saturday. And she was in the school library.

"Slayer training my ass," she thought, "I wanna see a movie or something." She hopped up on the desk annoyed. "And where the hell is Giles?" She wasn't about to go search the library for him. "He has a maze of bookshelves and relics and stuff back there," she thought to herself, "My luck I'd get lost." As she said this, Giles came out of his office running. Buffy hopped off the desk as Giles ran up the steps and into the stacks without even noticing her. "Giles?" she called after him. He came out and stared at her for a moment. "Buffy what are you doing here?" he said finally.

"Have you gone mental? It's Saturday!"

Giles had a blank look on his face.

"Training?"

"Oh. Yes of course." He came down the steps. "I'm sorry. I seem to have misplaced one of my books." Buffy wasn't surprised. Actually, she was surprised that he could find ANY of them. "Can we hurry this up? There's something I want to see on the WB tonight." Giles frowned as he put on his padding. "Honestly, I don't see how you can watch that rubbish..."

Spike hated being in a wheelchair. He hated Angel even more. Not hated, exactly. He just didn't trust him. It's hard to trust some one you've tried to kill for months. "Do we have to do this, Dru?" Drucilla was his lover. More than that, actually. She was the only one he trusted other than himself.

"It must be done. It's the fastest way to make you better. He's the only one who can revive you..."

"I'm sorry, love. I just can't stand to see you go...especially with HIM," nodding towards Angel. Angel smirked. "Come on, Spikey, don't you trust me?" Spike shot him a look as Drucilla sat on his lap.

"Do you love me?"

"You know I do, baby."

"When we get back, this town will burn..."

"And you and I will dance on the Slayer's grave..."

"Well," Angel butted in, "Only if I get to lead."

Angel took Drucilla's hand and pulled her off of Spike's lap. "Bite your tongue, mate," Spike growled. "I'll be out of this chair when you get back." Angel smiled at him as he and Drucilla walked out. "Don't fret, buddy, you've got Ms. Edith to keep you company."

"Don't forget to feed her..." Dru added. When they were both gone, Spike took great pleasure in throwing the doll against the wall.

Xander put down his tray at the table and sat across from Willow and Buffy. "Ahh, the school cafeteria..." he sighed. "The place where kids can go for thirty minutes a day to relax, get away from classes and... puke over the mystery burger of the day." Buffy got disgusted. "And a big 'Thank You' to Xander for mentioning puke during lunch." Xander stabbed his burger and held it up. "Hey, check it out! Cat-on-a-stick!" Buffy, repulsed, turned to Willow. "So, how'd it go with Oz last night?" Willow smiled and lowered her head. Her cheeks turned bright red.

"That good, huh?"

"It was only a movie, Buffy..."

"And what was this movie about?"

Willow's cheeks got redder. "Um...there was a guy...uh, and a building um...and a bad guy with a gun..."

Xander butted in, "I thought you went to see Titanic?"

"Uh...there was a boat, too..."

Willow's face got beat red. Buffy thought she was going to explode. "Oh, just say you were making out the whole time, already!" Willow burst out in a fit of giggles. "Oh my God!" She was ecstatic. "He is so cute! With his face and hands and stuff, and when the movie was over, he took me back to his place and serenaded me with his guitar. I was wooing!"

"What song did he play?"

"...Live and let die, by Guns-n-Roses, but I wooed."

Xander tried desperately to change the subject. "So, Will. We Bronzing it tonight? I got this friend in the band and..." Willow cut him off. "Oh, God there he is! I gotta go see him!" Willow got up and trotted gleefully after Oz. "What just happened? Was I even talking? I could have sworn I was... "Don't worry about her, Xand," Buffy said trying to comfort him. "She's just a girl in love..."

"WOAH!!!! Who said Love? Did she say love? I didn't hear that! Did I miss a meeting?"

"Calm down. I was just making an assumption. If it means that much to you, I'll go tonight."

"Nah. I think I'll sit at home and break out the Garth Brooks again.."

"Xander, I..." Buffy was cut off by Giles who rushed in with that normal panicked look on his face. "Buffy. Thank God. I need to see you in the Library as soon as possible. Great danger and all that lot." And with that, he was gone, rushing out of the cafeteria with great abandon. "...What just happened?" Xander as well as Buffy were stumped. They both got up from the table and ran after Giles who was ahead of them by at least a hundred feet.

Giles got to the library way before Xander and Buffy. By the time they got there Giles was already there, but he wasn't alone. There were three or four men with him. They looked like police! "What's going on?" Buffy had a little more than concern in her voice. Giles looked at the both of them. "Oh, wait," he said to the officer closest to him. "Could I have a moment alone with them?" The officer's expression never changed. "I'm sorry, Mr. Giles, we can't allow that." With that the officer put handcuffs on Giles and started leading him away. "Hey!" Xander was ready to jump in front of them but Buffy held him back. "What's going on?" Buffy repeated. "I'm sorry miss, but Rupert Giles is a suspect in the murder of Jennifer Calendar."

****************************************************************

Willow caught up with Oz after calling his name through the hallway for the better part of five minutes. "Hey, didn't you hear me calling you?"

"Sorry, I got my mind on other things..."

"Oh, right. Full moon tonight."

"...It IS!?! Oh, crap, thanks for reminding me!"

"Don't you look at the calendar that Giles gave you?"

"I try to remember but it's hard to bring yourself to think that 'Hey! I'm a werewolf!' It's alot to take in."

"I guess..."

"Did you want something?"

"Oh yeah. I was going to ask you to go to the Bronze tonight, but I suppose you're a little preoccupied..."

"Yeah that's the worst part of turning into a flesh eating hairy monster. Ruins your social life."

"And here I was thinking it was chaining yourself to a wall. Silly me."

Oz gave his "Hey that was pretty funny but I'm only gonna half-smile" smile. "Um, I wanted to ask you something, but I don't want to freak you out or anything." Oz looked concerned. Willow figured it was serious. "Okay. Go ahead," said Willow as non-chelont as possible. "Now, this is a pretty serious question. Are you sure you're ready?" Willow tried to hide the "Oh dear God" expression on his face, but failed miserably. "Okay, I'm ready," she said, holding her breath. However, Willow wasn't ready for what happened next.

A voice came over the P.A. system. "Um, attention students...uh..." It was Xander! "Uh...Oh, God what do I say?"

"Oh, Jesus, give me that!" This was a new voice. Was that Buffy? No way, it couldn't be! "Attention. Will Willow Rosenberg please report to the library...There, was that so hard? Direct and to the point..."

"Well, I panicked! What could I do?"

"Well, gee, you could have said Willow, come to the library..."

"Buffy, the mic's still on!"

"...uhh...carry on." Willow was shocked. "Did that just really happen?" she said to Oz. "I think so," he said. "Do you guys always take over the P.A?"

"Well, City Hall won't give us a bat signal, so..." Oz looked at her just to make sure she wasn't serious.

"Uh, okay. You better go."

"Yeah okay...Oh! What did you want to ask me?"

"It can wait. Go ahead."

****************************************************************

Willow ran down the hall. She was supposed to be teaching her computer class. She knew this would happen. She gets to teach a class and then she misses it on the third day. What did Oz want to ask her? "If he asks me to marry him, I'll die," she thought. That was stupid. They were only 17 and 18. Marriage was out of the question. Oh, man but that would be cool! Mrs. Willow...what the hell is his last name? Oh well it doesn't matter. I'm sure it's beautiful. And cool.

She got to the library to see Buffy, Xander and Cordelia sitting around the desk. "What's up guys?" she asked.

"Where's Giles?"

"Umm..." Xander started.

"Well, he's uh..."

"He got arrested." Cordelia finished.

"WHAT?!?"

"That's what I said," Buffy said. "He's a suspect in Ms. Calendar's murder!"

"We've got to go to the police!"

"And tell them what?" Xander interrupted. "Hey it wasn't him! It was a vampire! Now release the man in tweed and charge!"

"Okay, calm down people," said Buffy, "now we all know that Giles had nothing to do with this, but he wanted us all to come to the library for something. He mumbled something about danger and took off, so I don't think he meant this." "But how do we find out what he was talking about?" reasoned Cordelia, "There's no way."

"Well there is one way," said a familiar voice form the shadows. "You could ask me..." The group stared at the bookstack from where the voice was coming from. "Who's there," Buffy said finally. "Angel's going to resurrect the anointed one..." Xander spoke up, "How do you know this?" They all looked on in amazement as Spike rolled on in his wheelchair.

"Because I live with the bastard...

*****************************************************************

Giles was beginning to get antsy. He was so nervous he was almost shaking. He didn't know what to do. Surely, he couldn't tell them the truth. They would lock him up for sure. He stared at the officer behind the desk, typing away. "You can't hold me here," he said as forcefully as possible, "You have no evidence that I was even involved."

"Oh, we don't?"

"That's right."

"How about we found her dead in your bedroom with signs of a struggle and a drawing of her DEAD face?" "Signs of a struggle?" asked Giles. "Yes. We found shattered glass all over the floor, plus your weapons that you use for *ahem* protection were skewn all over the floor and were used." Giles said nothing. He slumped back in his chair, giving up. They did have a point...

*****************************************************************

Xander grabbed a stake from Buffy's side pocket and beamed it at Spike's heart. Xander, not being able to hit the brawn side of a barn, hit him blunt side in the head. "OW!" exclaimed Spike, "That really hurt! What the hell was that all about?" Willow, seeing her opportunity, rushed Spike full force. Spike was injured, but he was still a vampire. He grabbed her by the arm and twisted it behind her back. "If you are quite done being heroic?" "Let her go," said Xander. "I'll let her go when you listen to what I have to say. I believe I told you Angel was going to revive the anointed one." Buffy let her hands down and backed away. Spike released Willow and she fled into Buffy's arms.

"How can he do that?" asked Buffy.

"Remember that book we stole from you?" started Spike, "The one we used to revive Dru? Same book, different spell."

"Why are you telling us this?" asked Xander.

"Because I want the son of a bitch dead. He's been, ah, moving in on my territory."

"You mean he's stealing you're loved one away from you? Sounds like our Angel..."

Willow shot Xander a cold look. "Where is he?"

"At the old hideout," said Spike, "In the sewers. You apparently need be in the same spot where he died."

Willow and Xander exchanged glances. "So what's the move?" asked Xander. Buffy took a minute to think it over. This was usually Giles' area of expertise. "Okay," she said finally. "Xander, you and Willow stay here and look through Giles' books and things and see if you can come up with some sort of anti-spell. When you find something, meet me and Spike at..."

"Woah wait a minute," said Spike with a laugh, "I'm not a part of this team."

"What do you mean?" asked Willow, "You just gave us information and stuff. You're like one of those traitor-guys they had in the war."

"No, no, no." Spike laughed even harder, "Is that what you think this is? I came to you so you could kill Angel, not so I could join your little rat pack."

"Hey," Xander spoke up, "we like to be referred to as the Scooby gang, or the Slayeretts." Everyone looked at Xander with that "why" look on their faces and Xander gave a look like he just said something powerful for Slayer-kind.

"Anyway," said Spike, "After this task is done, I'll be back to killing you again." With that, Spike rolled his way down the hall and out the Library door muttering something about freaks. "There goes a wonderful, brave man," said Xander, "...do we have time to stop for Burger King?" Willow and Buffy exchanged glances. "KFC? McDonalds? Come on, man I'm hungry!"

****************************************************************

Giles sat at the desk for about a half an hour before he started to fall asleep. Someone bumped into him and he woke up with a jump. He was getting tired of this. It was ridiculous. Why would he kill his own girlfriend? Then an officer who was unfamiliar to him walked to where he was sitting. "Rupert Giles?" asked the officer. "Yes?" Giles responded shakily. This was it, he thought, off to jail with me. "Could you come with me please?" Giles followed the officer into an office not far from where he was sitting. The officer closed the door behind them and closed the blinds. "Okay," said the officer almost whispering, "I know you didn't kill Jenny." "You do?" asked Giles, more confused than ever. "Yes, and I also know as well as you do who did. I know who you are and what you are doing. You need to stop Angel from resurrecting the anointed one. Follow me and don't say anything. I'm going to get you out of here."

*****************************************************************

Willow tapped frantically at the keyboard. "Man," she thought, "AOL really sucks." Xander slammed the book he was glancing through down on the desk. "I can't find anything," he said frantically, dropping his head into his hands. Willow got up from the computer desk and walked over to where he was sitting and sat down next to him. "Can we take a break now? I must've been at this for hours."

"We've been her for forty minutes."

"Oh, God, I can't take this anymore. It's all fine and dandy when it's just a bunch of us doing research for something that may or not be happening, but when you know it's happening tonight...I can't take the pressure of a deadline."

"Relax," said Willow as comforting as she could. "I'll tell you what. You keep researching and I'll go to the vending room and get us some soda and...I don't know. How do you feel about Ho-Ho's tonight?" Xander smiled and put his head on her shoulder. "That would be great. I'd appreciate it. Sorry I got all spazy just then. I mean obviously the Anointed one has alot of power. And when you throw in the end of the world..."

"Shhh," said Willow, "We'll stop it. Buffy's a superhero remember?" Xander looked at his friend and for no reason, their lips met. Willow didn't resist. Not right away. When the kiss broke the two stared into each other's eyes. "...Ho-ho's," said Willow suddenly. With that she jumped up and ran out of the Library. "Smooth, Xander..." With all that Xander was feeling he did the only thing he could think of doing. He banged his head on the desk. Several times.

****************************************************************

Giles followed the officer through the police station. This whole thing was confusing him greatly. Who was this person? How did he know all of these things? "Berkley!" shouted another officer, "Where are you taking him?" This was it, thought Giles. We're caught. "I got a call from the 8th precinct," said Berkley, "He's being transferred down there." The other officer scratched his head then shrugged and went back to his paper work. When the two got outside, it was night. "How do you know of Angel and The Anointed one?" asked Giles. "There's no time to explain," said Berkley, "Here, let me take those cuffs off." Berkley removed the cuffs and Giles rubbed his wrists. "Get in the car," said Berkley, "I'll drive you to the cemetery." "The cemetery?" That word never sat right with Giles.

"What's in the cemetery?"

"The entrance to the sewer."

"What's in the sewer?"

"I'll fill you in on the way, will you stop asking so many questions? You're starting to sound like Cordelia!"

"Cordelia? How do you…"

"Just get in the car!" As Giles got into the back seat of the car he could tell it was going to be one of those nights.

***************************************************************

Willow came back into the Library with about half a dozen Ho-Ho's in her arms. She threw them down on the desk and sat down at the computer, getting back to work. Xander got up from his chair and headed over towards Willow.

"Willow, I..."

"NO! Xander, no. No, no, no! I don't want to talk about it."

"But..."

"I don't care Xander. We have to get to work on this. It's almost time to meet Buffy and..."

"I love you."

Willow stared at the blank computer screen not knowing what to say. Xander sat down next to her and took her hand. "I love you," he repeated. "I heard you the fist time," stated Willow, trying to buy herself some time. Finally, she looked at him. "No you don't."

"Willow, don't give me that crap. I always loved you. I'm an idiot for saying now and not sooner but...I love you."

"Xander, I loved you for a really long time...but those days are over for me. I can't go on with it anymore. Besides you have Cordelia and I have..."

Willow trailed off. She didn't say anything after that. By the look on her face, Xander thought her brain exploded. "Willow?" Still nothing. "Willow! Come on it's not that bad! We don't have to date or anything. Forget about it! Forget I said anything! I'm not even here, okay? I'm over there...Do you want a Ho-ho?" Willow looked at the ho-ho and then back at Xander. "Xander," she said finally, "go call Cordelia and tell her we need her car."

***************************************************************

Oz sat in his basement playing Playstation's "Oddworld" for the thirtieth time that day. He always liked getting in as much fun as he could before the full moon came up. He looked at his watch. 6:15. He still had a few more minutes. Then his phone rang. He paused his game and went upstairs to answer it. It was Willow. "Hey, Will," he said into the phone, "Nothing, I'm getting ready to...He got arrested? Well where...Spike did WHAT?...But then...But where's...she did...what do you want me...you want me to do WHAT?...That's crazy...alright, but let me get changed first...because I'm wearing my PE shirt and I don't want it destroyed and I'm not gonna go naked...are you sure you want to...okay...but you better hurry, you only have about 10 minutes before...hello?...hello?..." Oz hung up the phone and started to take off his shirt. "Strange girl..."

***************************************************************

Berkley and Giles pulled up to the entrance to the cemetery. Giles hated being here. Why could he never come to the cemetery for a GOOD thing? It was always "We're here to save the world," or "Hey, we've got to bury our loved ones." As soon as Giles got out of the car, Berkley started to run. Confused, Giles ran after him, not sure what was going on. He knew about Angel and Drucilla trying to resurrect the Anointed one even before he got arrested. What he didn't know was how, where, when and why. Berkley filled him in on most of that, though. How was in the book that the vampire stole from him, where was in the old sewer vampire hideout, why was to bring Spike back to full health, and when was approximately fifteen minutes from now. Giles understood all of that. What he didn't understand was where Berkley came in.

"Uh...Off...Officer...Berkley?" Giles puffed. "I need...to rest..."

"There's no time!" Berkley replied.

"I...can't...can't go on..." Giles stated as he fell to one knee.

Berkley stopped running and turned to Giles who was panting badly on the ground. "Come on! We've got to move!" "One...one moment...please..."said Giles. Giles never considered himself out of shape but this proved him wrong. Way wrong. "If they resurrect him," Berkley started, "Spike, Angel, and Drucilla will run not only this town, but the world into the ground."

"Oh, what?" said Angel. "Like it's really far from that now?"

Berkley turned to Angel just in time for Angel to snap his neck.

"I don't care what anyone says..." said Angel. "That...is still FUN!"

***************************************************************

Willow and Xander waited outside the school entrance, waiting for Cordelia in full gear. Steaks, crosses, holy water, you name it, it was in their bags. "Willow, about back there..."started Xander. "Don't!" said Willow, cutting him off. "No," said Xander, "I just wanted to say that you were right. I don't know what came over me, I...I'm sorry." Willow frowned. "Don't be sorry," she said, "It's just that I have Oz and you have..." Willow stopped. As if on cue Cordelia pulled up in her red firebird, cross in hand. "Is anyone going to tell ME what's going on?" Xander and Willow exchanged glances. "NO!" they both said simotaniously.

***************************************************************

Giles ran through the cemetery without looking back. He didn't know if Angel was behind him or not, and he didn't care. Angel killed his Jenny a few months back and it was eating him up inside. He wanted to hurt Angel in the worst way. But right now, he was running for his life. He didn't know where he was going. He just wanted to get away from him.

Giles came upon the mausoleum that led into the sewer. He entered the mausoleum and searched for the entrance. There was a metal door to his right, and he walked through it and closed it behind him. "Smart move," thought Giles. He just entered the tunnel that led to the ceremony to resurrect the anointed one. A place that was swarming with vampires.

***********************************************************

Buffy looked through her purse. "All these stakes and crosses," thought Buffy, "How could I have forgotten my Chapstick?" Buffy fidgeted in her seat on the bus. "I gotta get me a car," she thought. The bus was slow, unreliable, and it stopped about a block and a half from the cemetery. "I've slayed vampires, cleaved a giant praying mantis, been turned into a rat, sent a witch to hell, killed demons, disassembled robots, and killed death, but this driver is REALLY scaring me!" Buffy shifted in her seat again. "And my GOD, what is that SMELL!"

Buffy's stop came and she got off the bus. She immediately started running towards the cemetery. If the Anointed one comes back, Spike, Drucilla, and Angel would be unstoppable. Buffy ran through the cemetery as fast as possible. She entered the mausoleum and ran through the opened door...

************************************************************

Giles walked cautiously down the dark corridor. He could barely see what was right in front of him. He saw in the distance a gleam of light. As he walked towards it, he could hear voices chanting. He entered the dimly lit room where three larger than usual vampires were chanting Latin phrases around a large bowl of blood. Before them, on an altar, was a baby who looked to be no more than a year or so old. Giles was standing on a catwalk above the three vampires standing around the bowl. Giles decided to hide in the shadows and wait for an opportunity to..."Oh, dear," though Giles, "What AM I going to do?" He had brought no stakes or crosses with him. Not that he could have. He couldn't have said, "Excuse me officers, would mind if I grab a few weapons before I'm sent to jail?"

Giles pondered his current situation for a moment. There was a loose metal bar on the platform next to him. He assumed the three vamps were conjuring up the spirit of the anointed one and were going to transfer it into the body of the child. Giles bent down and silently picked up the bar. Of course, he couldn't kill the vampires with this, but he could perhaps sneak down and keep them at bay long enough to get the small child out of there. Giles was so caught up in his planning that he didn't hear Angel come up from behind.

Angel whirled Giles around and kicked him straight in the chin. This sent Giles back and over the metal guardrail of the catwalk. Giles landed on top of a crate and crashed through it. The three vampires did not stop their chanting as Angel walked down the stairs laughing. He brought Giles to his feet and held him by his shirt. "Man," said Angel with a laugh, "Buffy is going to LOVE this!" Angel threw his head back and let his fangs descend. He sank his teeth into his neck and began to drink.

"Angel..."

Angel raised his head to see Drusilla stepping from the shadows. "You're playing without me..." she said with a frown. "Just making another present for the slayer," said Angel, blood dripping from his fangs. "Can I help..." said Drucilla, stepping closer to Giles. Angel passed Giles' limp body to Drucilla. "He's smells delicious..." she said with a wicked smile.

As she said this, a stake came flying through the air and pierced the heart of the closest of the vamps. Angel and Drucilla looked up as Buffy jumped off the catwalk. Drucilla dropped Giles and watched, as Buffy had no trouble staking the other two vampires. "Angel..." Drucilla cried, "She's ruining our party...Kill her?"

On command, Angel circled Buffy. "Come on, Slayer," teased Angel, "You're not going to let me get away with killing another one of your friends, are you?" Buffy answered with a kick to the gut. As Angel doubled over in pain, she followed with a knee to the head. Angel backed away from her holding his nose. Buffy followed him and threw a right hook. Before the punch could land, Angel caught her fist and twisted it. Angel threw a punch of his own than sent Buffy flying backwards. Buffy landed flat on her face. Angel came from behind and delivered a fist into her back. "Damn," said Angel, "Killing people is alot like riding a bike. You just never forget how..."

At that moment, Willow, Xander and Cordelia entered dragging something behind them. Angel shivered as he heard a growl. They were dragging a werewolf by chains. "What the..." exclaimed Angel. "They have werewolves now?" They released their grip on the chains and turned Oz loose. Immediately, Oz went for Xander, picking him up by the shirt collar. Then, his gaze fell on Angel.

Angel took a step back, then a few steps toward Oz. Oz went straight for Angel's throat. As the two wrestled on the ground, Willow helped Buffy to her feet as Xander and Cordelia went to Giles' aid. Oz was beating Angel to a bloody pulp. As Oz was moving in for the kill, Drucilla knocked him out cold with a loose block of wood. Satisfied, Dru picked up Angel and dragged him through the shadows. Buffy, regaining her senses, picked up Oz and slung him over her shoulder like he weighed nothing. Xander and Cordelia were dragging Giles behind her, as Willow carried the non-Re-anointed baby out the door to safety.

**********************************************************

The next day, Willow was gathering up her things after teaching her computer class when Buffy dropped by. "Hey, Watcher-in-training girl," she exclaimed as she walked through the door.

"Buffy! Hey!"

"Pretty smooth thinkin' last night."

"I impress even myself sometimes."

"How's the baby doing?"

"He's okay. He's back with his parents, now. I gave them some story about finding him on a bus."

"They didn't ask how he got there or how you knew where he lived?"

"Well, they probably would have...if I talked to them. I did the traditional 'Leave-the-baby-in-a-basket-leave-a-note-ring-the-doorbell-run-away' thing."

"Way to go."

"How's Giles?"

"Sleeping off the blood transfusion. It's weird how many doctor's buy the whole bar-b-que fork story."

As they were leaving, they caught up with Xander. "Hey, guys! What's up with you?"

"Oz is home sleeping it off, Giles is home sleeping it off, we're wishing we were home sleeping it off."

"...Okay..." answered Xander, "What's up with you that isn't totally hellmouthish?"

"Well," started Willow, "My computer class is going pretty cool. Ooh! Xander I found this thing in my textbook that can probably help you with your computer!" Willow frantically searched her bookbag. "See," exclaimed Xander, rather cockily, "It's good to know computer nerds..."

"Uh-oh," stated Willow, "I think I left it in class. Xander can you go back and get it for me?" "Well, I'll tell you what," said Xander, "You guys go home, I'll go back to the computer room, get your book, and we'll meet up at the Bronze around eight."

"Sounds like a plan, daily routine boy," Buffy mused.

"Hey," said Xander, "Why differ from the boredom that is the Sunnydale night life?"

"Uhh...cause I have a date tonight?" said Willow.

"Oh..." said Xander, trying not to look jealous, "Well, I'll just bring it by your house. I'm gonna get going..."

"Wait!" shouted Willow as Xander tried to pull away from the conversation. Willow pulled her friend off to the side away from Buffy. "What are we going to tell Oz and Cordelia?"

"Oh you mean about the, uh..."

"Yeah."

"I don't know. The truth?"

"Ick," said Willow turning pale over the mere thought of what was to come.

"It's probably the best way," Xander said, trying to convince himself as well as Willow.

"You're probably...not right, but what choice do we have?"

"Alright, go look for Wolfie, I'll try to track down Maleficent."

"Could you not call him that?"

"Sorry. Oh, by the way, you know that old adage, 'The truth never hurt anyone'..."

"Load of crap."

"Thought so," said Xander as he headed down the hall.

"Well," said Spike, "Don't you look happy?" Angel was severely bruised from head to toe. "I take it from the lack of cheer that you two didn't get the job done?" thought Spike. "We ran into someone..." said Drucilla. "A little dog that wouldn't wag it's tail..."

"Aww," said Spike, mockingly, "And I was so hoping that I would get to kill that little pratt again..." Drucilla walked over and sat on Spike's lap. "Don't worry, lover..." she stated, "You'll be playing again soon..." Spike gave an evil grin. "Why wait?" he said as he took Dru's mouth with his. Angel stood by and watched with a low growl...

Buffy entered the hospital room with a shudder. She hated hospitals even more, after the last time she was here. "Oh, Buffy," said Giles, "Come in, please. Sit." Buffy sat in the chair across from Giles' bed. She hated seeing him like this. He did look kinda funny in that backless hospital gown, though.

"How are you feeling?" Buffy asked in a sympathetic tone. "Like Charlie Brown after Lucy pulled the football away from him," Giles joked. "Good one..." said Buffy, impressed.

"What happened with the cops?"

"It was the most peculiar thing..." said Giles, puzzled. "I was sure I was off to prison, then an officer came up to me and pulled me aside and explained everything about the anointed one and then let me go."

"Behold the power of weirdness..."

"But, I know I heard that name before..." said Giles. "Berkley..." he said softly. "Berkley..."

"Berkley? Doesn't ring a bell."

Giles' eyes widened to the size of diner plates. "Oh dear God..." said Giles, breathlessly. "Buffy, get my bag." Buffy got the overnight bag that looked more like a briefcase and handed it to Giles. Giles rummaged through it until he came upon a copybook with the title "Jenny-n-Giles" with little hearts drawn around it. Buffy tried her hardest to muffle her laugh as Giles leafed through the pages. He came across a first place award that Jenny must've won. Giles read the embroidering on the award aloud:

"First Place in best web site on the net awarded to Jennifer Berkley Calendar..."

Willow sipped at her tea. She thought it would be best to talk to Oz at his place rather than at school or at her house. That way he could just say, "Get out!" and she would go home and not have to open the door for him or anything. Now that she thought this over, it sounded really stupid. Nevertheless, here she was as Oz came back into the room with a Jolt Cola for himself.

"I'm glad you came over, Will," started Oz. "I've been wanting to talk to you about..."

"I kissed Xander," Willow blurted out.

"Wh...What?"

"Well, I mean...I kissed Xander...Well, he kissed me too, and we broke the kiss and told him I didn't want to...I kissed him.

Oz sat on the couch in amazement. "Huh," said Oz. "Are you two...you know...like..."

"No," said Willow. "We decided that it was wrong, and I don't want him."

"Well," started Oz, "What do you want?"

"Oz...ever since we met...all I wanted was you..."

"Really?" Willow nodded. "Do you want to know what I wanted to tell you earlier?"

"What?" asked Willow, nervously.

"...Oh, God..." Oz was shaking. "Um...I love you."

"...You do?"

"I always have," said Oz.

"Oh," was all Willow could say.

"Don't flip out on me or anything, okay? I had to say it..."

"Oz," Willow started.

"No, Will, it's okay. I know you don't feel the same way, and it's okay."

"I love you too," she said almost whispering.

Oz sat in shock for a moment then smiled. He leaned in close to her and whispered, "A werewolf in love...Things are about to get VERY interesting..." Willow placed her hand on his cheek and they kissed their most passionate kiss...

Xander cringed as he felt the slap of Cordy's palm across his face. thought Xander. "How could you?" shouted Cordelia. "How could you kiss her?" Xander's mind raced for the right thing to say. "Well," he stared. He had to calm her down. "She kinda kissed me...er, we kissed each other..." Cordelia slapped him again. "Xander, I sacrificed everything for you! My friends, my reputation, and you go and cheat on me!"

"Cordy, it's not cheating..."

"How exactly is it not cheating?"

"I don't know! Look, I don't want her. It just sorta happened. I want you. I really care about you..."

"Don't you dare! Don't you DARE get mushy on me!" she said as she started to walk away.

"Hey," shout Xander, spinning her around. "Damnit! I love you!"

"I loved you first, you jerk!" she said, shoving him.

"You DID?!?"

"Yeah!"

"That's the first time we said that!"

"So what?"

"So I'm gonna kiss you!"

"You better!"

Xander grabbed her forcefully and kissed her hard, not letting go until they calmed down. Xander broke the kiss off just to take a breath and then kissed her again, more forcefully and with even more passion.

Xander frantically searched through Willow's desk. He found the book with no problem but now he had to find her cell-phone. She always kept one in her desk for emergencies. Finding it, he dialed her home phone number.

"Hello?" came a tired voice.

"Willow?" said Xander, "Did I wake you?"

"I was just taking a nap before tonight," Willow yawned.

"I've got your book, but I wanted to ask you a question. I found this disk on the floor and I wanted to see what was on it. How do I do that?"

"Xander, you're the only person I know who has a computer, but is so computer illiterate."

"Well...haven't had much time to look into it," Xander said, defending himself.

"You've had it for three years!" said Willow.

Xander had forgotten that he could never slip anything by Willow. She'd known him for just too long. He needed to find a friend he could lie to. As Willow described what to do, Xander tried desperately to follow what she was saying. "Are you writing this down?" asked Willow, knowing her friend. "Oh, sure," Xander lied. When she hung up, he wished he DID write them down. He figured it was simple enough, point here, click there, type this, type that. Xander thought he reached his goal when the sign on the screen read, "Click 'OK'," but when he did so, Xander cursed himself when the screen displayed the words...
