"Iris of the Moon"

Willow typed away at the keyboard. It had been months since she had written a passage in her diary. So much has happened…

“Dear Diary,” she wrote. “Months have passed since Buffy left and it doesn’t look like she’s coming back. No one has any idea where she is, or what happened that night. Nothing has been the same since, including my friends and myself. Xander and Giles are searching for he in L.A. Cordilia is moping around now that Xander’s gone. They’re pretty much on the splits. No one expected them to last, but I thought they were cute together. Well, not at first, but I accepted it with time. As far as Oz, wolfing out every month, and me and Cordy patrolling every night, we’ve grown more and more distant.”

Willow heard a tap on her window. Willow stopped typing to get up and look around, but saw nothing. she thought. Then she heard music playing rather loudly. It was the song “Iris” by the “Goo Goo Dolls”. Willow’s favorite song of the week. She continued to type. “I’d give anything for Oz to…” Willow stopped typing and listened to the music.

“And I’d give up forever to touch you,
Cause I know that you feel the same now
You’re the closest to heaven that I’ve ever been
And I don’t want to go home right now…”

Willow recognized the voice as not the “Goo Goo Dolls”. She ran to the windows and opened them wide. She looked down into the yard and looked into the loving eyes of Oz.

“And you can’t fight the tears that ain’t commin’
Or the moment the truth in you lies
When everything feels like the movies,
Yeah, you bleed just to know you’re alive…”

Willow slid pants on over her nightgown and ran outside. She watched Oz’s fingers strum the strings ever so gently and she smiled that smile that made Oz melt every time.

‘And I don’t want the world to see me,
Cause I don’t think that they’d understand.
When everything’s made to be broken,
I just want you to know who I am.
I just want you to know who I am.
I just want you to know who I am…”

Oz finished the song and stared into Willow’s sweet green eyes. “Do you have to go patrolling tonight?” Oz asked. “Oh, I’m sure Cordy can handle it,” Willow replied. She smiles that sweet smile as she took his hand and led him inside for their most passionate night yet.
