"Goin' Down"
Floatin' down the river
With a saturated liver
And I wish I could forgive her
But I do believe she meant it
When she told me to forget it
And I bet she will regret it
When they find me in the morning wet and drowned
And the word gets 'round
Goin' down
Goin' down
Spike woke up with a nasty headache. Then he realized he couldn't move. Then he realized he was in a river wrapped arms to ankles in chains. He looked up and saw Drucilla standing on the dock above waving at him with a devilish grin on her face. "Bloody hell."
I wish I had another drink
It wouldn't be so hard to sink
I should have taken time to think
Besides I got the picture straight
She must have had another date
I didn't need this extra weight
I wish that I could see the way to shore
Don't want no more
Goin' down
I'm goin' down
The waters started to get rough and Spike was pulled further down the river. He didn't really remember how he had gotten himself in this situation. He remembered finding Dru after searching for Lord knows how many months. He remembered tying her up and torturing her. Then he remembered her getting out of the chains and . . . something about a shovel before everything went black. And now here he was. If he was human he would have drowned a long time ago. The chains were made of plotdevicum, a powerful metal that no vampire could break. No, Dru knew what she was doing. She wanted to hurt him plus get him as far away from her as possible. Plus, with any luck, the sun would kill him in the morning. "Well, that's just bloody priceless."
Been down so far I don't get wet
I haven't touched the bottom yet
This river scene is getting old
I'm hungry, sleepy, wet and cold
She told me to forget it nice
I should have taken her advice
I only want to go on home
I'll gladly leave that girl alone
What a way to spend the night
If I don't drown, I'll die of fright
And now I've floated way down stream
I know this has to be a dream
If I could find my way to shore
I'd never ever do this anymore
I'll give you three, I've been down nine
I'm goin' down just one more time
Goin' down
Goin' down
Spike continued to drift downstream. He was tossed left and right, trying to stay afloat. Which wasn't easy
Because of the rocks poking through the icy water. Spike crashed into a rather jagged rock and it sliced through the pale skin of his arm. Blood flowed down over the chains and mixed with the water. He could now move his arm slightly due to the lubrication from the blood. Spike winced at the thought, but this could be the only way he could free himself before sunrise. Pulling with mass amounts of pain, Spike managed to free one arm. The rest of the chains slid off easily.
With the laceration on his arm almost fully healed (it's good to be a vamp), Spike pulled himself up onto a nearby dock. The sun was almost up. He could smell it. He noticed two young girls gossiping a few yards ahead. "What the hell," he thought, "I could go for a quick snack."
"My God, Mary," said the first snobby chick, "I am so glad that school's over." Mary rolled her eyes. "Tell me about it, Rosalind. Plus it's great to get away from that Niki girl. What was with those 'Mummies Kittens' she was always talking about?"
"Excuse me, girls," said Spike as casual as possible. "Is there a hotel close by?" Rosalind looked the vampire up and down. "Sure. Right across the street." Spike could tell that she and her friend were looking down on him. Probably because he just crawled out of a river. "Thanks so much, love," said Spike before snapping Mary's neck and sucking Rosalind dry. Dropping her lifeless carcass to the ground, Spike ran across the street to the hotel. "That should hold me over 'til I find Dru . . ."
Now the sky is getting light
And everything will be all right
I know I'll find a better day
I'm goin' down groovin' all the way
Goin' down
Goin' down
