Chapter 32: Nightmare Unfolding

“Come on, I’ll take care of you.”

Marie looked up at him from beneath the folds of her green hood. There was a fear in her eyes that made his heart ache. “Ya promise?”

Logan didn’t hesitate for a moment. “Yeah.... Yeah, I promise.”

“That’s what you promised me, Morgan.... Now I’m going to make sure that you deliver,” a quiet voice murmured from above him.

At that moment, Logan felt his consciousness rearing back to full alert. He tried to move, to get up, but found his limbs restrained. Logan also became aware of the agonizing pain in his right shoulder as his arm was stretched above his head.

“What the fuck’s goin’ on?” Logan mumbled, his voice muffled as he threw off the last vestiges of sleep. He blinked a few times and came face to face with Tanya who was hovering over him.

The crazed look in her eyes had Logan instantly worried.

“You know, Morgan, I’ve waited almost two years for this,” Tanya said, tracing the curve of his jaw with her fingers. “When you disappeared two years ago, I was gonna have your baby. We were gonna get married and be blissfully happy.... Then you went away and I lost the baby. But we can be together again, Morgan. Just you wait and see.”

“You are fucking insane!” Logan gasped, shifting in an attempt to alleviate the intense pain in his right shoulder. “There was no child! You were never pregnant! Now I want you to untie me!”

Tanya seemed to ponder his demand for a moment as she slowly ground her lower body against his groin. “Now why would I want to do something like that? I have you right where I want you. You are completely at my mercy, Morgan, and there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”

The crazed look in her eyes had Logan ready to panic. He began struggling in earnest, pulling against whatever was tying him to the bed and bucking his hips at the same time to try and throw her off. However, his movements were halted because of the stiffness in his right shoulder and incredible pain it created whenever he moved the muscles a fraction of an inch.

“Now, now, bad Morgan,” Tanya scolded, reaching up to grab something from the side of the bed. “You’ll only hurt yourself struggling like that. It’s not like you’ll be able to get free anyway. Pantyhose are incredibly strong. Now, open up, Morgan dear. I can’t have you screaming and letting your father know what’s going on in here. He thinks that I went shopping.”

Logan opened his mouth to scream, but instead found a cloth of some kind shoved in his mouth. Before he could spit it out, Tanya had fastened a large piece of tape over top, holding the cloth in.

Tanya smiled contentedly and tossed the remainder of the roll of duct tape over her shoulder. “Now that’s more like it. Scream all you want. No one will be able to hear you. Not anymore.”

Logan was in a full out panic. Tanya was sliding her hands under his shirt, scraping her nails over his stomach before sliding back further on his legs and reaching for the waistband of his jeans. Unable to move any of his limbs freely, Logan could only jerk her hips in an attempt to throw her off of him.

“Hush now, Morgan,” Tanya cooed, brushing some of her long hair from her face. “There’s no need to cry. You’ll enjoy this.... You always did in the past.”

Tanya then preceded to unzip his jeans and pull them down over his hips. Thankfully, she had left his boxers in place, providing Logan with at least some modesty. Still, Logan couldn’t contain the whimper that escaped his throat as Tanya slithered up his body and licked the tears from his cheeks with broad swipes of her tongue.

“Really, Morgan, I always thought you enjoyed our bondage games more than this,” Tanya pouted as she hovered on hands and knees above him. “It always used to get you so hot and bothered. You loved it when I’d tie you up and make you my slave. You’d always be begging me for more.”

At that moment, Logan was only begging for Marie to come. He longed for her to open the door and stop Tanya since he couldn’t. Try as he might, Logan could not flip Tanya from his body. It was an even more difficult task now that as Tanya knelt on hands and knees above him. The only part of her touching him was her hand that was pushing his shirt up to expose his stomach where her tongue and lips were tracing patterns on his skin, slowly making her way towards the top of his boxers.

Suddenly, Tanya sat back up, holding herself above him on her knees. In one, fluid motion, Tanya pulled her skin tight lycra top over her head and tossing it beside the bed. She wore no bra, so Tanya was completely naked from the waist up.

“Oh, come on, baby,” Tanya moaned, undulating her body above his. “You used to spend hours worshipping my body, Morgan. You used to know every inch of it... and I think it’s time you learned it again.”

Logan screamed into the gag as Tanya reached for the waistband of his boxers and began pulling them away from his body. Logan tried to push his body up with them so that his boxers would stay more or less where they were supposed to. The only problem was that Logan could only raise his hips so far before it started putting pressure on his shoulder which caused Logan to gasp and drop his hips back onto the bed.

“Don’t fight it, Morgan. You know you want me, you just don’t remember,” Tanya purred, grinding her hips down against him. “But I’ll help you remember, my love. Very soon you’ll remember....”

“LOGAN!”

There was a great commotion on the other side of the door that didn’t seem to dissuade Tanya in the least. Logan tried screaming Marie’s name, but barely any noise passed beyond the gag in his mouth. Marie was so close and Logan would be damned if he let Tanya do anything to him when Marie was right there.

Logan let out a huge sigh of relief when the door the bedroom he was in was thrown open. Even though he couldn’t see her, Logan could hear Marie’s shocked gasp as well as several pairs of footsteps entering the room.

“Pete, get her off o’ him!” Marie shouted from somewhere out of Logan’s line of sight.

There was a flurry of motion that Logan couldn’t really follow that ended with Tanya being pulled off of him and Marie hovering beside him She hurriedly began untying his wrists, being extremely careful not to jar his right side too much. Marie carefully eased his right arm down to his side, wincing whenever he let out a pained gasp.

“Ah’m sorry, sugah,” Marie murmured, pressing a quick kiss to the palm of his left hand before moving down to pull his jeans back up around his hips. She fastened them quickly then turned her attention to the piece of duct tape that covered his mouth. “Ah can’t think o’ a way t’ do this without it hurtin’ so Ah’m just gonna pull on it real quick so it’ll be over all at once. Okay, sugah?”

Logan nodded his head, wanting it over as quickly as possible so that he could have Marie in his arms once again. He kept his left hand on her waist, squeezing hard as she ripped the tape from his mouth, but his right arm remained useless at his side.

“Oh Gawd! Ah’m so sorry, Logan! Ah never shoulda let ya leave!” Marie sobbed, all but collapsing against his chest.

Having felt someone untie his ankles, Logan rolled onto his left side, curling himself around Marie and holding onto her as tightly as possible. He pressed his face against her throat, inhaling the fragrance of her berry bodywash combined with a faint scent of Alexandra’s baby powder. Logan felt Marie’s hands in his hair and she slowly began easing his head back so that she could see his face.

“Logan, are ya all right? Did she hurt ya? Please say somethin’, Logan. Yer scarin’ me,” Marie murmured, her eyes trained on his to determine whether or not he was telling the truth. If he was lying, Marie would be able to tell just by looking in his eyes.

“My shoulder’s killing me, but, other than that, I just wanna hold ya,” Logan mumbled, his eyes suddenly tearing up.

Marie pressed her lips against his in a very soft and tender kiss. She then brushed a kiss against his forehead before tucking his head under her chin. “Pete’ll deal with Tanya an’ Maureen then Ah’m takin’ ya t’ the hospital t’ get yer shoulder looked at. Okay? Just relax, sugah, they’re not gonna come near ya ever again. Ah won’t let it happen.”

Logan said nothing. He laid silently in Marie’s arms, taking comfort in her very presence. Logan was fully aware that they’d have to get up very soon, and as much as he despised the bed they were laying on, Logan wanted to stay exactly where he was for as long as possible. In Marie’s arms, he was safe. Nothing could touch them as long as they were together.

After a few minutes, Logan felt Marie stiffen and pull back. He must have made a frightened noise or something because Marie pressed her thumb against his lips, shushing him.

“Come on, sugah, it’s time t’ get goin’,” Marie said softly as she sat up once again.

With only a little help from Marie, Logan was sitting up on the bed, his feet dangling over the edge. He watched silently as Marie scanned the interior of the room before finding whatever she was looking for. With a triumphant, “Ah ha!” Marie jumped off the bed and rushed over to the other side of the room. She returned a few seconds later with his boots which she helped him put on and then lace up. His jacket was flung overtop of a nearby chair and Marie helped him put that on as well after replacing his sling which had been tossed aside by Tanya.

“Everything okay in here?” Madison asked quietly as she appeared in the doorway with Alexandra in her arms.

Marie, who was still kneeling in front of him, looked over at Madison and nodded her head. “Yeah, Ah got everythin’ under control. Why don’t ya head down t’ the jeep an’ get it started. Ah’ll bring Logan along.”

As soon as Madison was gone, Marie turned her attention back to Logan. She smiled softly and reached a hand up to cup the side of his cheek. “Ah’m right here if ya need t’ talk. An’ if ya don’t talk t’ me willingly, Ah may hafta force it outta ya ‘cause Ah don’t want ya bottlin’ it all up inside like ya did before. When yer ready t’ start reactin’, just remember that Ah’m right here an’ Ah’m not goin’ anywhere.”

Not trusting his voice at that moment, Logan merely nodded his head. He extended his left arm and wrapped it around Marie’s shoulders, pulling her close. Marie went willingly, wrapping her arms around his waist. She pressed a kiss over his heart then leaned her head against his chest.

The two of them stayed like that for several minutes and Logan could feel himself relaxing more and more with each minute that passed. The panic was slowly starting to wear off and when he was sure that he could face others without breaking down, Logan pulled back slightly. He kept a hand on Marie at all times, not yet ready to be apart from her. Her touch was comforting and Logan knew that he needed that then.

Together, they walked out of the bedroom and into the living room where Charles was talking quietly with Pete. Both men looked over when Logan and Marie entered and Logan could see the pain in his father’s eyes. The older man hadn’t known what was happening and Logan knew that he would have stopped it if he had. Logan kept his eyes trained on the other man for a few moments before allowing Marie to lead him out of the hotel room.

There was a crowd of people gathered in the hallway. Undoubtedly other hotel patrons, they all had their eyes riveted on Logan and Marie as they passed silently down the corridor towards the elevator. Logan did his best to block them all out, concentrating only on the feel of Marie’s arms around his waist, her one hand rubbing lightly against his stomach in a soothing manner so completely unlike Tanya’s touch. As that brief memory passed through his mind, Logan squeezed her shoulder tightly with his arm which was draped across them.

As soon as they stepped into the elevator, Logan felt his entire body sag. It took a great deal of effort to keep up his unbreakable facade and when they were alone, Logan knew that it wasn’t necessary.

Marie cupped his cheek and guided his lips to hers for a soft kiss. “Ya don’t hafta be strong all the time, sugah,” she whispered, her lips brushing against his as she spoke. “It’s okay t’ let yer guard down once an’ a while. Ah won’t let anythin’ happen t’ ya.”

Logan squeezed his eyes shut and began shaking his head. “No. I can’t let that happen. I can’t let my guard now. Not here.”

“Okay, then where?” Marie asked, running her hand along the side of his face.

“At home,” Logan said quietly, opening his eyes a tiny crack. “That’s the only place nothing bad ever happens.”

Logan saw the tears in Marie’s eyes and hated that he was making her upset. When she spoke, though, her voice didn’t waver for a second. “Then as soon as Hank checks out yer shoulder, Ah’ll take ya home. Ya won’t stay at the hospital a second longer than ya need t’. Okay?”

Blinking back tears of his own, Logan nodded his head. “Okay.”
