David Lynn Bishop,the eldest of the 4 Bishop children was born 4-23-1957. He married Joanna Faith Honeycutt on 5-24-1975 and have 3 children; Jamilyn,David and Christopher. Faith and David own a property services company in Houston.
Jamilyn Marie (9-12-1976) married Keith Raymond Miller on 2-16-2002. Jamie is Assistant Manager of a mail facility. Keith works at a Target Store. They live in Houston. There is a special story behind Jamilyn’s name. Both of her grandfathers are named James. Her father's middle name is Lynn. Also, the ending of her grandmother’s name is “lyn.” The “J-a-m” of James and the “l-y-n” of Lynn and Carrolyn. An “i” was put in the middle (because she is an individual) and came up with the unique name of “Jamilyn.”
David James Bishop (9-12-1979) married Pamela H Belew on 7-15-2002. David joined the Navy on 2-4-1999. He is an Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class. He has had 2 tours of duty in the Middle East, serving on the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the USS Enterprise, and making training cruises on the USS Nimitz. He recently re-enlisted for an additional 5 years. Pamela is an aspiring writer of fiction and poetry. David and Pamela are expecting their first child later this year, David and Faith's first grandchild. They live at Naval Air Station Lemoore California.
Christopher Lyn Bishop was born 4-29-1982. He is studying to be a Youth Pastor through Slidell Baptist Seminary and works at a craft store. He lives in Houston.
Faith and David are the proud godparents of James and Tamahrynn Wall. Their parents are Robert and Roxanna Wall. David reflects; "A special aspect of my parents is their generosity to others. I met Robert Wall at Helmers Street Baptist Church. He had been staying with his grandparents because of an abusive situation at home. When his grandparents’ health began to fail, he was faced with the situation of having to return home. When my parents found out, they immediately instructed me to “get that boy and bring him here.” My parents took Robert into their home and treated him as their own son for a year." Faith and David are also godparents to Shaylah Marie Hately, the daughter of Faith’s niece Jenny who is stationed in the Navy at Norfolk Naval Base. Jenny will deploy the latter part of 2003 on the maiden voyage of the USS Ronald Reagan.
David remembers; "My favorite memories of my childhood with my parents are the camping trips we used to take as vacations and weekend getaways. Our parents taught us to appreciate the wonders of the outdoors, to be self-reliant, and that you didn’t need a TV to have a good time and entertain yourself. One trip that stands out in my memory is that according to our weather people, it wasn’t supposed to get that cold. Sure enough, as we bedded down that night in our tent, the outside temperature got down to around 25 degrees. The 6 of us bedded down, elbow to elbow, stocking cap to stocking cap, sharing 3 blankets and body heat, trying to stay warm. If we had had a video, we would have won on “America’s Funniest Home Videos."
