I am 22 years old and live in Louisville, Kentucky. I graduated from ITT Tech in September of 2001.

I own two 3000GTs. I have a gray '92 SL with after market turbos and a emerald green '93 base model. The gray 3G is running at around 305hp. The only thing I don't like about this car is that it's an automatic. I'll never make the mistake of buying an automatic sports car again.

The green 3000GT is a '93 base model. It is a 5-speed with about 285 horse power. I have only two simple modifications to this car. There is a K & N filtercharger which is suppose to add 20hp and I removed the resonator which adds 3 or 4 horses. I'm not exactly sure how much hp the removed resonator adds but a noticeable difference in the base model but not really in the turbo gray car. I have also added a new intake pipe. I added upgraded headers and downpipe.

9/01/01 I've just bought new wheels that are much lighter than the factories. They are 17" split 5's.

I am in the process of selling the gray SL. It has been giving me serious engine problems lately. I think it is because of the after market turbos. This car unlike a VR-4 isn't really meant to be turbo charged. It seems to me that the turbos have put extra strain on the engine causing a more rapid breakdown of the car. Basically I wouldn't sell it to anybody I know.

8/02/01 The gray 3000GT has been sold.

The green one runs like a champ. It has only has one problem since I've owned it. The problem occurred 4 days after the installation of the K & N filter charger. The mechanic told me the problem was not related to the intake. It turns out it was a wiring harness that came loose and caused the coil packs not to fire. It cost me $48 bucks.

I feel very fortunate to be 20 years old and have the car I've always wanted. I've always loved 3000Gt's ever since my mother bought the green one in '93. I just had to have one so I bought the gray one 1999. I drove it two years until mom told me she was she was selling the green one. So I couldn't let that happen so I convinced my mom to give it to me for graduation from college. I ended up getting it a little early because my mom bought a 2001 bright red Z28. It's the fastest car I've ever been in. This thing whoops brand new vettes. It is not normal for Z28s to beat vettes but this car does it wounderfully. It is a 6 speed with Hurst racing package. This means the stock 273 gears are replaced with 373s. Plus it has a special racing chip instead of the stock CPU (good choice MoM!) I'll put some pictures of "Hoss" up on my next update. For now I'm definitely happy with my 3000GTs and I don't think I'll ever sell the green one.
