Chocolate Toffee Bars
IN LOVING MEMORY!
Crust Ingredients
1 cup(2 sticks) of unsalted butter (room temp.)
1 cup of packed light brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon of vannila extract
1/4 teaspoon of salt
2 cups of flour

Topping Ingredients

7 to 8 oz. milk chocolate(broken into pieces)
1 cup finely chopped walnuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream butter and sugar until smooth,
stir in egg yolk,vannila,salt,and flour to make a stiff dough.
Pat dough evenly over bottom of 13x9 inch pan,
bake in center of oven for twenty minutes or until golden brown.
remove from oven,scatter milk chocolate pieces over crust,return to oven for 1 minute,
remove again and spread chocolate evenly over the crust,sprinkle with finely chopped walnuts,
let cool at room temp.
