- "Few knew that Kristin Chenoweth was hit by a light tree towards the end of one of the shows on the Saturday before we closed on Sunday. With her ongoing neck problems, it was excruciating for her. BUT, she finished that show and finished the last 2 of the run."
- "I imagine you know that Stephanie Block went on for Idina one Sunday night during the previews, and that she originated the role of Elphaba in workshops before the show went into production."
- "One of the funniest scenes backstage was when the "Shiz" students would come off after dancing wildly. A number of them would come down the basement and stand in front of an air conditioning vent to try to cool off. Women would roll up their blouses, men would take off vests, and they all would jockey for the coolest spot. Somebody took pictures of this, but I don't know who has them."
