WHAT IS A SYNCH?

E Banner Exchange (e-bannerx.com)

Many years ago, a doctor named Jung came up with the term Synchronicity. His definition of that term is truly irrelevant to ours. Simply put, a synch is a peice of audio that when matched up with a peice of unrelated video or other media produces a variety of coincidences. The most famous of these synchs is surely the Dark Side of the Moon (by Pink Floyd) played against The Wizard of Oz. So many coincidences occur in this synch that there is great debate whether the synch was intentional or not. I will not go into that debate as it usually gets pretty ugly, let's just say that I have a personal opinion on the matter and I intend to keep it personal. The way that most people recommend watching synchs is to have the video volume off, I disagree with this. I recommend having the video volume just below the audio volume. If you need a good example of why this works, watch the Dark Side of the Rainbow(as the Dark Side of the Moon/Wizard of Oz synch is commonly referred). When the music breaks for On The Run it breaks just in time for Dorothy to sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Synchs can be fun. Either to play someone else's or discover your own. ENJOY!
