Greater effort needed to capture
criminals
US
Ambassador
Ronald Bullen and Commissioner
Winston Felix.
Dear Editor,
I am trying to figure out something here. If this
young man, Shaheed Roger Khan, is afraid that the Commissioner of
Police in Guyana is out to kill him and has every reason to feel
that way and so escapes to Suriname, why would this same frightened
man want to assassinate government officials in the country where he
is hiding?
Something is just not right here.
Finally, if the Guyana Commissioner of Police, who
came so highly recommended (the British and the Americans considered
him the right man for the job, and the PNC wanted him also),
had put the same effort to finding Khan into capturing the criminals
who have been killing Guyanese businessmen,
taxi-drivers and others, this place would have been
safer, much safer.
W.P.
