Memorial Scholarship of
Dear Vocal Music Teacher:
Fifteen years ago, Mohawk Valley Chorus established a scholarship, open to high school juniors and seniors. The winner of the competition is awarded $500.00 which may be used at the student’s discretion for future music education.
Three stipulations must be met:
the student must be willing and able to perform at our
classics concert at
the student must
reside in one of the seven counties encompassed by the MVC membership, namely:
.a student who has been awarded the scholarship as a junior is ineligible to reapply.
Enclosed is one application (which may be copied for additional applicants), to be filled out and returned to Nancy L. VanDenburgh, 141 County Highway 142, Johnstown, New York 12095. The deadline for receiving applications is January 30, 2005. The application must be accompanied by a cassette tape or CD of two songs, including one classical, and three letters of reference, one of which should be by a vocal music teacher.
The scholarship
committee of MVC will review the applications and listen to the tapes.

Other high school organizations and activities, academic honors, sports teams, etc.
Community activities, hobbies
List names, titles, and telephone numbers of the three adults who will attest to your musical ability, scholarship and commitment. These should include a music teacher, at least one other faculty member, and another individual such as an employer or a clergyman. Enclose letters of reference with this application.
