Character References Hugo quite often compared his characters to historical figures, especially from mythology or the French Revolution. I've done a bit of research (with my friends at legal aid! Okay, I'll stop quoting RENT now.), and this is where you can find out who these people really were. So far I only have some of those characters compared to Enjolras, but I'm working on more.
