FANY Nominations Announced
The Wild Party and Contact each garnered nine nominations for the Friends
of New York Theater (or FANY) Awards. Winners will be awarded June 25.
Kiss Me, Kate won eight nominations while Aida, Swing!, James Joyce’s
The Dead and The Ride Down Mt. Morgan all earned five.
The Green Bird, The Music Man, Dirty Blonde and Uncle Vanya all missed
the March 30, 1999 making them ineligible, however last season’s The
Iceman Cometh, Marlene, Ring Round the Moon, Fascinatin’ Rhythm, Amy's
View, It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues and The Lonesome West did make the
deadline (which runs from March to March).

The Friends of New York Theater Awards are chosen by the members of
their organization, which is open to anyone for a membership fee. Winners
will be awarded in a ceremony June 25.
