Performing Groups
Men’s Choir
This is a choir for both the beginning high school make vocalist as well as the more advanced student interested in repertoire for men’s voices. All incoming freshman are enrolled in the group. They participate in festivals involving both traditional choral literature as well as show choir material.
Beginning Women’s Choir
This group is one of the foundations of our vocal music program. All women interested in participating in vocal music at the beginning high school level as well as those with no high school choir experience are expected to join this group before auditioning for more advances ensembles. All incoming freshmen women interested in vocal music at the high school level are enrolled in this group. This group allows incoming choir students the opportunity to acclimate to the high school music program more easily and to focus on the basics necessary for successful musical growth.
Advanced Women’s Ensemble
This is a choir focused exclusively on the more advanced women’s voice. Participating students must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors and audition at the end of the previous academic year. Both show and traditional choral festivals are attended. The music performed is on a slightly more complex level than the Concert Choir and Beginning Women’s Choir. Many outside performances, festivals, and competitions are required in addition to the on campus programs. This is a one-year class. Enrollment will not be allows at the semester. It requires a large time commitment including extra rehearsals as well as performances.
Concert Choir
This group provides an opportunity for experiences singers on campus to participate in vocal music. All students in grades 10-12 are welcome to participate with instructor permission. Required performances include five major concerts in the Performing Arts Center, Disney Magic Music Days, and a variety of community events and classical festivals. This group tends to be large and focuses on many different styles of music.
Chamber Choir
This is a select group chosen by
audition by the director form the general student body and membership of the
Vocal Music Department. This choir represents the school throughout
