Gabriel Veneziano: Biography

GABRIEL VENEZIANO hails from Columbia, Maryland and has called New York City his home for almost ten years. He started performing at the age of five in a small ballet company in his town. Taking advantage of his neighboring city, Washington, D.C., he began to dance with the Washington Ballet at the age of eight. He was lucky enough to perform in the Nutcracker and Don Quioxte with Rudolf Nureyev at the Kennedy Center. This lead to other adventures at the Kennedy Center including La Boheme with Luciano Pavarotti. At the age of ten, while playing on the monkey bars, he took a terrible fall which lead to a broken collarbone. Taking a break from dance, lead him to his new hobby, acting. Performing in numerous shows with Onstage Productions and training with Toby Orenstien and Carol Lehan Graham at the Columbia School of the Theatrical Arts lead him to pursue a career in theatre.

Gabriel earned his BFA in Drama from the Tisch School of the Arts, a subdivision of New York University. Four years of intense training lead him to a multitude of performing opportunities. These included his first production of A Chorus Line with the Tisch School, Broadway Moments at NYU with Savion Glover, as well as performing with a multitude of Broadway stars including Joel Grey, Karen Ziemba, and Rebecca Luker.

Gabriel humbly admitts his good fortune in the theater after stepping into the professional world. He has performed in every state in continental U.S. while on the National Tours of Hello Dolly! (Cornelius) and Cats (Munkustrap/Rum Tum Tugger). While on the European Tour of A Chorus Line (Bobby) he was lucky enough to perform in Germany, Austria, France, and Switzerland. Back in the United States, he has performed with numerous regional theatres including: Arena Stage (Camelot), The Downtown Cabaret (A Chorus Line), Westchester Broadway (Jesus Christ Superstar), Mill Mountain Theatre (West Side Story), and the Gateway Playhouse (Kiss Me Kate) among others. In New York, Gabriel has performed at Lincoln Center (Writing to Vermeer), Di Capo Opera (Fables from the Forest's Edge), The Copacobana Club, and The Tisch School of the Arts. Gabriel would like to thank a great family and wonderful friends for all their support: Mom, Dad, Alayna, Mema, Aunt Laura, Uncle Jim, Sue, Mitch, Courtney, and The Simms.
