Thank you for visiting my page at Angelfire. Please come back and visit again!

Laura, born in Solarolo (Ravenna) on May 16th, 1974, got high school degree in Arts in Faenza in 1993. She actually lives in Milan, but her relationships with Romagna's citizens are still strong. Laura Pausini's amazingly fast artistic career starts on February 25th, 1993. A young girl from Romagna appears for the first time in Sanremo Festival and in a flash she gained the love of million people. In only two years, an unstoppable climb transform that girl in an international song "star". Two unpublished albums "LAURA PAUSINI" and "LAURA", and a spanish-language collection were launched in 34 countries and they sell over 6 million copies. Laura Pausini, in 1995, joins the restrict Warner artist's community that has a world wide distribution. On May 4th, 1995 she wins the Montecarlo "WORLD MUSIC AWARD" as the "BEST SELLING ITALIAN ARTIST", the italian artist who sold most pieces in the world in year 1994. On May 18th, 1995 she wins the "LO NUESTRO" award in Miami (Florida) as the best new entry among latin-languages singers that operate in USA. On October 10th, 1995 , at "Istituto di Cultura Italiana" in Madrid on the event of the millionth sold copy, the Italian Ambassador presented Laura with a platinum globe to mark her "contribution to knowledge of italian cultura in Spain". On July, 11th 1996, in Bruxelles, Laura Pausini received the "I.F.P.I. Platinum Europe Award" as acknolewdgment for selling results in Europe. She has released two albums in italian language: "LAURA PAUSINI" (1993) and "LAURA" (1994), a Spanish language album and an english version of the song "LA SOLITUDINE", with words by Tim Rice (1995). LA PAUSINI It' s a little more than three years since a teenage ltalian girl by the name of Laura Pausini, from a small country town near Ravenna, won the "New Talent" section of the 1993 San Remo Song Festival. When they awarded her prize, the judges who had recognised a remarkable new talent could hardly have guessed the phenomenon they were igniting. Recorded and released that same year, the singer's self titled debut album rocketed all the way to number one in Italy.Spearheaded by the elegantly dramatic " La solitudine", the LP went on to entrench itself in charts all around Europe. Also released in Australia and Japan "Laura Pausini" was to sell over two million copies in the process. The single "La solitudine" has also been recorded by Laura in an English version, with words by Tim Rice. The success of a second album, "Laura", has been even more sensational. Released in 1994 in conjunction with a second San Remo Festival appearance, the LP has, to date, sold four million copies in an incredible 37 countries. So, in the space of three years, Laura Pausini has found the kind of success that many bands and singers only dream of over decades. She has gone from being a talented unknown teenager to becoming a respected artist of major international calibre and seemingly limitless appeal. A Spanish-language "best of" from the first two albums sold over one million copies in Spain and has become a hit throughout Latin America and in the huge Spanish sector of the American market. Meanwhile, the song "Amores Estranos" went all the way to the top of Billboard's "Hot Latin Tracks" listing, prompting the magazine to describe Laura as the "Female revelation of 1994". In May, 1995, Laura received the "Premio lo nuestro" award in Miami as the new best Spanish singer on the American scene. Later that year, in October, she was the guest of the Italian Cultural Institute in Madrid where the Italian ambassador presented her with a platinum globe to mark her achievement as the first non-Spanish singer to sell more than a million records in Spain. Also in 1995, Laura won the "World Music Award" in Montecarlo as the italian artist to have sold more records than any other in 1994. Such phenomenal, contagious success means that it is no surprise that it is no surprise that Laura's keenly awaited new album "Le cose che vivi", is set to come out in three diffent versions : Italian, Spanish and Portuguese (Laura has sold half a million records in Brazil without, so far, visiting the country). The new album is an assured piece of work from a coolly confident singer who, for the first time, contributes lyrics herself alongside her established songwriter Cheope.Produced by Alfredo Cerruti and Dado Parisini, the album features guest appearances from the London Sympony Orchestra along with the international musicians of the calibre of bassist Nathan East and drummer Steve Ferrone. Despite the growth and innovation that this new record underlines in Laura's career, "Le cose che vivi" is still characterised by feelings of simple sincerity and levels of freshness and enery that have always been Laura Pausini's hallmark and the secret to her ever growing popularity around the globe.
