Last Update 11/08/00

We will begin our eleventh season of quality community theatre in Houston with our production of Li'l Abner, which is scheduled to open in July of 2001. Our Year Ten Anniversary production of Grease!, which closed on July 15, 2000, completed the most successful run in our history. We are now well into the pre-production phase of Li'l Abner and are looking forward to a similar success with it. Auditions will be held Monday, April 16, 2001 at the Parish Hall of St. Cyril Catholic Church, located on Westheimer just west of Beltway 8. Visit our cast page, which is now up, for a list of characters and more information on auditions.

To learn more about this show and shows past, we invite you to click on the links at the bottom of the page and begin your journey through our site. Who knows...maybe we can entice you to join us in Dogpatch for Sadie Hawkins Day!

Our local Houston visitor links are still open for those of you visiting Houston. Please review our Houston page for a list of restaurants and other local attractions.

A brief synopsis of the Li'l Abner story, details on auditions, the rehearsal schedule, ticket information, and a history of the Guild with links to all ten of our previous shows are all either available now by clicking on the appropriate links below.

Our "Announcements" page for Year Eleven is up and running. Older messages concerning make-up and other topics are still listed there. If you have any announcements to post, get them to Mike, John, or the appropriate committee chairperson.

General Guild Announcements

We have a few "committee chairperson" jobs that will need filling for Year Eleven, plus we need lots of help working on the committees to produce Li'l Abner. If you have some skills to offer or are just willing to work hard to "learn on the job" please check our job openings page starting in January 2001, or call John or Jill now.

If I had my druthers,
I'd druther have my druthers
Than anything else I know
While you'd druther hustle
accumulatin' muscle
I'd druther watch daisies grow.

While they're growin' slow
'n the summer breeze is blowin'
My heart is overflowin' 'n so;
If I had my druthers
I'd druther have my druthers
than anything else I know.

If I had my druthers,
I'd druther have my druthers
Than work any wheres at all
It ain't that I hates it,
I often contemplates it
while watchin' the rain drops fall

I sits there for hours,
developin' my powers
a figurin' how flowers gets tall
If I had my druthers
I'd druther have my druthers
than anything else at all.
