Hamlet's Ophelia is probably the character who I can best relate to.Ophelia reflects a lot of the insecurities that girls face growing up. She has to deal with overbearing family members, who believe that they know what's best for her as well as dealing with unrequited love. Like many children, her desire to please everyone causes her to be torn between her obedience to Polonius and Laertes and her love for Hamlet. Deep down, Ophelia is a good person. While some critics may view her as weak, i feel that she was merely the naive, innocent victim of circumstance. The combination of herlonging for Hamlet's affection and his murder of her father brought her to an insane state of mind and an untimely end of floating down a river singing all the way down. (what a way to go!)In the midst of such events, others would have acted the same way. It doesn't mean that we're weak; it just means that we're human.
