Okay, I have to admit that much like Elizabeth I was very offended by Mr. Darcy's haughty and arrogant manner, but Mr. Darcy proves to be a gentleman, who you can count on in such urgent situations such as when Lydia ran away with Wickam. In the end we are able to see his true kind and caring nature beneath the formal and cold facade. I really reccomend watching the A&E version of this film because Colin Firth has really breathed life into the character. Although he brilliantly depicts Darcy's unapproachable and intimidating exterior, he manages to give us an insight into his softer side with little whistful looks.
