Emergency calls for heatstroke while boarding
at Pecan Grove Kennels, Richmond, TX on 8-1-2003...
PECAN GROVE KENNEL ALMOST KILLED AND PERMANENTLY DAMAGED OUR BLACK LAB AND WILL NOT EVEN PAY THE $3,856 MEDICAL BILLS!!!

These calls were retrieved from Rob Ambrosino's cell phone while on
vacation in New York and CT.

Call #1: Receptionist at Kingsland Animal Clinic.

Call #2: Dr. Ragsdale at Kingsland with near death info.

Call #3: Pecan Grove Kennel call, very sketchy, no real info.

Travis is now back home and is in good condition with a recurring cough and a minor blood imbalance. He cannot bark normally and is weak compared to his normal strength. Dr. Ragsdale of Kingsland Animal Clinic told me that it was a miracle that he is walking around. We all thank God that he is still with us.

On the business end, The bill at $3,856 and counting. We were told by Pecan Grove Kennel that we should be able to talk about the possiblities of insurance coverage for these bills on Wed., 8-6-2003. As of 11 a.m. today, Aug. 5th, 2003, we have not been able to speak to the person in charge.

Around Aug. 18th, 2003, Travis seemed to be recovering very well from the incident. He gained his strength back and Dr. Ragsdale said he was looking much better, but cautioned us that if ANYTHING out of the ordinary happens, it may be related to permenant brain damage. Travis did fine through Christmas and on into March of 2004.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on 8-6-2003, I called Pecan Grove Kennel once again. The person who answered the phone told me that the owner was still unavailble and to call their attorney. As of 2:30 p.m. on 8-6-2003, I have still not talked with the owner to discuss liability insurance for my $3,856 bill. My attorney is now working on the case.
On March 6th, 2004 Travis was again rushed to V.E.R.G.I. after having two seizures in a row. One in which he choked on his tongue and the second about 15 minutes later. During the second seizure, Travis' face fell right into the concrete on my back patio because he became paralized for a few minutes.

On March 10th, 2004 Judge Yoeman of Harris County Texas granted a "change of venue" to Pecan Grove Kennel so the case may be presented in Ft. Bend County.
On March 17th at 12:15 a.m., Travis had another seizure and recovered.

It is now May 27th, 2004 and we have not received one penny from Pecan Grove Kennel after they almost killed our dog. Travis now have seizures about evey month due to scar tissue on his brain.
