The Top 10 Albums of 2004
According to Joe Sweeney

Ah, 2004. The year I got married to the most amazing woman on earth and immediately took her to Paris – before she could realize she had married a pasty dweeb that picks his nose and harvests volcanic zits on his back. I managed to continue listening to music along the way, and these are my favorites of '04. Hopefully, 2005 will mark the demise of that diabolical, freedom-hating axis of evil: Usher, Lil Jon and Ludacris.

1. Prince – Musicology

2. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – Abattoir Blues/The Lyre Of Orpheus

3. Franz Ferdinand – Franz Ferdinand

4. Bjork – Medulla

5. Marianne Faithfull – Before The Poison

6. Elliott Smith – From A Basement On A Hill

7. Mos Def – The New Danger

8. Ozomatli – Street Songs

9. Pedro The Lion – Achilles' Heel

10. Old 97's – Drag It Up
