He was always a good friend to me even though we
didn’t see much of each other. We’d go weeks and
sometimes months without seeing or talking to each
other, but when we did talk or hang out, it was like
no time passed at all. We’d talk on the phone for
hours or just hang out and laugh. He allowed me to be
myself and made me feel special. I’ve never had a
friend like Sam - someone so caring and selfless. He
is irreplaceable. He gave up a lot and made
sacrifices for me – more than I deserved. I recall
this one time when I was in need of someone to talk
to. After hearing my message, he woke up hours before
he had to just to catch me on my way to work. He said
that I sounded really upset and he was worried. He
wanted to help me as soon as possible to make sure
that everything was alright. There were so many times
that he encouraged me to talk about things and
wouldn’t let me go until I was feeling better.

Sam showed me that there are good men out there,
because he was definitely one of them. I really
admired Sam. I admired his kindness, his
thoughtfulness, his passion, and his intelligence. I
wish that there were more people in the world like
Sam. I miss him so much and think about him every
day. My only hope is that I can be half the person
that he was. I will cherish every moment that we
shared and he will live in my heart forever.
