Bio: I was born in Fond-du-Lac, Wisconsin at 1:17 a.m. Nov. 2, 1945, so I am a Scorpio. I grew up in Mt. Morris (1948-49) and Wautoma, Wisconsin (1950-1964).
After graduating from high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, went to boot camp at Cape May, NJ (June-Sept. 1964), studied radio and electronics at the C.G. Radioman School, U.S.C.G. Training Center, Groton, CT (Oct. 1964-April 1965), promoted to RM3 upon graduation. Served at U.S.C.G. Radio Station NMK, Cape May, NJ from April 1965 to November 1966; U.S.C.G.C. Sweetbriar, Juneau, Alaska, from December 1966 to March 1967; promoted to RM2 upon transfer to the U.S.C.G. District 17 Communications Center, Federal Building, Juneau, AK. My 4-year tour of active duty ended in June, 1968, when I joined the inactive reserve until June, 1970 when I received my honorable discharge. I attended W.S.U. Stevens Point from Sept. 1968 until May 1972, graduating with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. The following summers I earned 24 graduate credits in String Development at U.W.-Madison during the 1970s.
I attended many National String Workshops in Madison which I enjoyed very much, studying all four bowed string instruments. I have taught private lessons since 1970, when I started teaching while I was still in college.
Interests: Record collecting since 1956.
Making music and playing in string ensembles.
I play accordion, piano, organ, electronic keyboards, violin, viola, cello, bass, and drums and have also tried guitar and electric mandolin, but haven't had the time to master them yet.
