‘Regine Returns:
A Homecoming Concert in Baliwag’

It must be written in the stars. It must be destiny.
After all, no one can deny the fact that Regine Velasquez is one of
the country’s top performers. She has toured around the Philippines
and in various countries, performs before jam-packed crowds, and
starred in films, which broke box-office records. She is a hitmaker,
a TV host, a box-office star and a certified crowd drawer. She is
Asia’s one and only Songbird.
Suffice it to say, Regine has really arrived. But success did not
come easy for her. Unlike many stars who had success served on a
silver platter to them, she has no showbiz lineage or ancestry to
speak of. Whatever success she reaps now is a fruit of talent,
hardwork, determination and perhaps, some luck. It’s no wonder,
therefore, that she has emerged as one of the country’s most
successful multimedia artists to date.
One of Regine’s endearing qualities is her humility. She never fails
to amaze, and amuse people with her anecdotes. She has never denied
the fact that she is a probinsiyana. In fact she admits to wearing
“dusters” at home. She also has a penchant for television sets, a
result of her family not owning one when she was still a child. She
hopped from one barangay to the other, joining every imaginable
singing contest there was, winning some, and losing some.
Yes, she may have stumbled a few times. She has made a few mistakes,
both personal and professional. Yet, she never lets failure and
disappointment out her down. Because like the true songbird that she
is, she knows how to fly.
Now, after so many years since she last performed in her hometown,
Baliwag, where she first started her singing, Regine will perform
before her fellow Bulakeńo on May 30. Expect another breathtaking
performance as Events and Shows, Inc., in cooperation with Tenthaus
Productions present “Regine Returns: A Homecoming Concert in
Baliwag” at the TGI Driving Range in Sabang, Baliwag, Bulacan. Fans
will have a field day listening to her hits such as “Narito Ako,”
“Sana Maulit Muli,” “Urong-Sulong,” “On The Wings of Love,”
“Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw” and others.
