Programs Like Napster Sharing Heaven

Welcome back. Did a huge update today. I have added programs like napster for macintosh to the mix. We might not have the biggest selection of programs. We just have the best ones. Why waste your time with garbage. In September we will be offering a new program called the bridge. It is suppose to connect all of the networks together, fast track, gnutella, and open nap. Imagine that, all together. The amount of files available would be beyond belief. By the way I am a musician who supports the file sharing community. Shareaza One of the new kids on the block. Sharaza is a gnutella client with excellent features. It supports swarm downloads wich means you can download from more than one user simultaneously. It has a very clean user interface and is easy to get connected to the gnutella network. No ads, adware, spyware or sneakware.

Kazaa Lite I personally use this program. It is just like kazaa except that all of the spyware has been hacked out of it. Kazaa and imesh both run on the fasttrack network. The network is about the biggest file sharing network on the net. This is truly a must have for any file sharing freak. mirror 1 mirror 2

Xolox This client has got to be the easiest there is to use. It runs on the gnutella network and also supports swarm downloads. Searches are returned with ratings based opn how many users have the file. If you like things uncomplicated then this is your baby.

Gnucleus another gnutella client that is worth trying out. It was built for those who are not very tech orientated. It is opensource software. It connects to the gnutella network easily. It also has a very nice looking user interface. This another one that is on my own computer. These guys aren't into it for the money and we should respect that and give their client a try.

WinMX this client has been around since the early days of file sharing. It connects to the opennap networks. I have never run into a problem finding ant file on this program. Once you have it configured right to connect to the best opennap servers you will find this client a joy to use. It can be a little complicated for those who aren't real familiar with p2p. You can also get a great little tool that will help you in connecting to the best opennap servers here. Here is a list of the opennap servers thanks to Zeropaid.

Direct Connect This client is awesome. It takes some time to learn how to use it and get the most out of it, but it is well worth the trouble. The network is run by the peers on it. If you do not have more than 3 gigs worth of files to share you will be unable to connect to most of the worthwhile nodes.

imesh v.dr.damn imesh is one of the best out there and is the program I use the most. This version has all of the adware hacked out of it. It uses the fasttrack network and allows swarm downloads. This is exactly the same as regular imesh just no spyware included. Thank you to dr.damn. Mirror

Grokster v.dr.damn again this is a hacked version. All of the adware has been taken out of the installation. It will run exactly like your regular grokster client. Grokster also uses the same fasttrack network as imesh, and kazaa. So you wil only need one of these three. Again a big thanks to dr.damn. Blubster becoming a very popular client. Blubster uses its own p2p network without any central servers. It has some nice features like resumable downloads, chat and voice chat. It may contain spyware. If you find out one way or another let me know.

eDonkey the donk as it is often refered to is highly popular. There are alot of webpages that are devoted to this noce little client. The links on these pages will automaticaly insert a download into the donk. There is also a Linux client for those of us who prefer to be different :) The link will take you to their homepage.

Bearshare a functional and easy to use gnutella client. Bearshare supports ultrapeer, sharing of any file type, multiple active searches, and resume downloads. All files types are available for sharing.

Limewire another one of those gnutella clients. The nice thing about this one is that you can use it on mac, windows or linux. It also allows you to choose the community that you connect to so that you can get the stuff that you need.

FreeNet with all of the attacks on our p2p networks like, file spoofing and such, Free Net could just be the last survivor when all is done and said. The RIAA are pushing a bill through congress that would allow them to hack into our p2p networks and cause some serious problems. All of the processes on Free Net are completely anonymized making it impossible for someone to trace you or take control of the network. It runs on java so if your a winXp user you will have to get virtual machine.

Limewire a nice gnutella client. It will also run on windows and linux. It is simple yet very effective. For os X. download here. For other macs here. Be aware that they are now trying to sell a limewire pro version. Just skip it. We don't want to encourage them to have us pay for a gnutella client.

i-Swipe iSwipe searches AND downloads from the Web, and FTP, Hotline, Napster, OpenNapster and Gnutella networks. It also searches the Carracho network. It includes a download manager, featuring retries and resumable downloads. It also includes an AutoSearch feature, which keeps a list of those elusive files that you want and can never find online, and an automatic feature to add all tracks from an album of music. Carracho Carracho Client allows users to chat, download files, and read news. Carracho also has a nice auto-update feature that allows you to get the latest version without going through a long process and . Features found in IRC, FTP style programs are also included in the latest version including threaded news, chat, drag-and-drop features. The link above will take you to their homepage.

Phex is an open-source gnutella client written in Java. One of the many features of Java is the ability to run on any platform, so Phex will work on mac and linux. Phex also offers auto research, a good way to find those hard files. To use Phex you need to have Java installed on your computer.

Myster Myster is a networking system that approximates Napster as much as possible. Myster does not amount to a Gnutella or Freenet clone; it is a new system that will solve all the current problems associated with those two protocols. The Myster protocol and application have been developed in response to a cry for a peer-to-peer file sharing system which efficiently operates without the need for a central logistics server. Mactella Mactella is a gnutella client. Mactella has been around the longest as far as mac clients go. Mactella also has added a important feature to the newest client, you now can continue file transfers after they have been interrupted.
